Image result for saturday night's main event

Hello and welcome to another edition of Seanomaniac Wrestling Reviews, the wrestling review series for people who love wrestling more than Luke Gallows loves Nia Jax! It is time for another Saturday Night’s Main Event with a Lumberjack Match, An Intercontinental Championship Match and Jim Duggan threatening to beat the crap out of Nikolai Volkoff! These shows are always fun so expect a great show as we stick ourselves into The Golden Generation!

Jake The Snake Roberts vs Kamala W/ Kim Chee & Mr. Fuji

The Snake looks to get back on track with a match against The Ugandan Giant Kamala. Roberts starts by throwing the snake at Kamala, Kamala is terrified of the snake. Kamala starts with a sneak attack, kick to the ribs but Roberts battles back. Throat chop by Kamala, bearhug by Kamala. Roberts escapes by setting on the toes of Kamala, Kim Chee is scared off by Roberts. Roberts wants Kamala, Kamala is begging off. Wrist-lock by Roberts, stamp to the feet. Massive chop by Kamala, choke from Kamala. Foot choke by Kamala, Roberts fights back with big uppercuts. Headbutt by Kamala, chop by Kamala. Headbutts down Roberts, Roberts make Kamala chase him. Knee lift, diving knee lift and it is DDT time. Kim Chee waffles Roberts with his cane, Splash by Kamala for the win.

Good stuff from a nothing match, it is all about how you make something out of nothing during these Golden Years, it was all about the characters back in these days, not saying that these two could not work because they could but Roberts has the crowd eating out of his hand for this match, they explode for the DDT and then, when Honky Tonk Man reveals himself as Kim Chee and nails Shake Rattle and Roll, it is fantastic.

Winner: Kamala over Jake Roberts via Splash!

Randy Macho Man Savage vs George The Animal Steele (Lumberjack Match)

Savage may be the most hated man in the WWF at this time, this feud continues to be stretched out. Steele and Savage nail one another, Steele is throwing around Savage. Savage rolls over to the heels, Savage escapes a beating until The British Bulldogs come in, Steele sends Savage into the corner. Savage is thrown back into the ring, Steele bites Savage. Savage rakes the eyes, Steele rakes the eyes back. Savage is thrown into the ring again, Savage sends Steele into the turnbuckle. Savage knees Steele, Axe Handle off the top rope. Steele is attacked by the heels, Duggan comes in and scares off everyone.

Steele is in the ring, two-handed throat toss on Savage. Steele rips at the turnbuckle, foam into the eyes of Savage. Savage has been blinded, Savage rakes the eyes and chokes Steele. Snap suplex by Savage, knee drop by Savage. Savage is tossed to the floor, Steamboat throws in Savage. Steele and Savage are nearly thrown to the floor, Savage has an armbar. Steele nails right hands, biting from Steele. Savage is tossed to the floor again, Savage nails Steamboat. Everyone batters one another, Danny Davis cracks Steele with a ringbell. Savage on the top rope, Diving Elbow Drop and Savage wins the match.

That was so much fun! Steele and Savage have so much chemistry due to the history with Elizabeth, it makes for such an entertaining match that sucks you in, the lumberjacks played their parts well and everybody pops for the brawls between everyone, Jake Roberts comes out with his snake just to scare off the heels before getting Kim Chee, it is brilliant as Roberts gets his heat back for earlier, great stuff thank you very much.

Winner: Randy Savage over George The Animal Steele via Diving Elbow Drop!

(WWF Tag Team Championship Match) The Hart Foundation © vs The British Bulldogs (Two Out Of Three Falls Match)

Bret and Davey Boy begin, Santana is in The Bulldogs’ corner while Danny Davis is with The Hart Foundation. Armbar by Davey Boy, side headlock by Bret. Second fall begins, Dynamite is taking one hell of an ass-whipping. Bret covers Dynamite for two, Bret complains to the referee. Dynamite battles back from his knees, Bret grabs onto the leg of Dynamite. Neidhart jumps in, front chancery from Neidhart. Bret knocks Davey Boy down, we have a chase around ringside, Bret escapes from Davey Boy as Neidhart chokes Dynamite. Neidhart bites the nose, Bret smacks Dynamite from the apron. Tag to Bret, shot to the ribs.

Bret ties Dynamite in the ropes, Bret misses as Dynamite dodges, Davey Boy gets the tag and goes wild, elbow and dropkick by Davey Boy. Clothesline by Davey Boy for two, suplex on Neidhart. Two for Davey Boy, kick to the ribs by Neidhart. Bret and Neidhart batter Davey Boy, Neidhart misses a clothesline and nails Bret. Right hand by Davey Boy, Santana nails Danny Davis. Davey Boy presses Dynamite onto Neidhart, we have new tag team champions!

Great tag team match, lovely start with Matilda scaring off Jimmy Hart, it was simply fantastic. The match is great with Bret carrying the load from his team against Davey Boy and Dynamite, Dynamite sells his ass off for The Hart Foundation. The match was great the crowd was hot throughout, this may be one of the best Saturday Night’s Main Event of all time.

Winners: The British Bulldogs over The Hart Foundation via Military Press!

(WWF Intercontinental Championship Match) Ricky Steamboat © vs Hercules W/ Bobby The Brain Heenan

Fresh off dispatching Billy Jack Haynes, Hercules looks to capture Intercontinental Championship gold, Hercules uses knees to batter Steamboat. Steamboat slides between the legs of Hercules, dropkicks and chops. Atomic drop by Steamboat, Hercules stomps all over Steamboat in the ring. Clothesline and pose by Hercules, two for Hercules. Boot by Steamboat, snapmare and chop, low shot by Hercules. Kick to the head by Steamboat and Hercules meets the turnbuckle, neckbreaker by Steamboat.

Savage wants to beat Steamboat, Savage grabs onto Hercules, Hercules and Savage have words. Hercules misses a splash as Steamboat blocks with his knees. Slam by Hercules, elbow drop misses for Hercules. Chops by Steamboat, Irish whip to the corner. Massive chop, Hercules is lost. Ten punches by Steamboat, inverted atomic drop by Hercules. Heenan hands Steamboat the chain, Hercules chokes Steamboat, we have a DQ.

Savage was hysterical during this match, I thought we were going to get the face turn of The Macho Man Randy Savage, it would have been massive as the people were ready for it. Anyways, Savage was awesome in this, Steamboat had the crowd eating out of his hand just like Roberts, good fun.

Winner: Ricky Steamboat over Hercules Via DQ!

The Can-Am Connection vs Nikolai Volkoff & Iron Sheik

Jim Duggan is making quite the name for himself in the WWF as Duggan goes after Volkoff, Martel and Zenk are a hot new team on the rise while we will not have too many more times when we will cover Volkoff and Sheik. Zenk and Sheik get down to it, boot by Sheik. Zenk meets the turnbuckle, gutwrench suplex for two. Suplex by Sheik for two, Volkoff batters Zenk. Boot to the ribs, jumping stomps by Volkoff. Sheik is back in, Slick is spouting crap at ringside. Belly to belly suplex and abdominal stretch by Sheik. Hiptoss counter by Zenk, clothesline by Sheik. Duggan and Volkoff have words, Martel rolls up Sheik with an O Connor roll for the win.

Very average match, more of a showcase for Jim Duggan. The great thing is the crowd are eating up everything that Duggan does inside of the ring, it looks like this Jim Duggan may turn out to be a big star in the WWF.

Winners: The Can-Am Connection over Sheik & Volkoff via O Connor Roll!

WWF Wrestlemania III Review

Image result for WWF Wrestlemania 3

Hello and welcome to another edition of Seanomaniac Wrestling Reviews, the only wrestling review series on the internet that shames people for their appearances more than Dave Meltzer! It is time for WWF’s Wrestlemania 3, the one that changed everything, it is hard to put into words how important this pay per view was, it was not all or nothing like the first Wrestlemania but this kicked wrestling into everyone’s home, there is not one fan of WWF who does not fondly recall this show, to discredit this show will be a tough task but as this reviewer has often found, our fondest memories not will always be so beautiful. So what are the big matches on this supershow that changed the professional wrestling business? In the mid-card, we have Jake The Snake Roberts chasing down The Honky Tonk Man, Honky Tonk Man smashed a guitar over the back of Roberts, setting this feud in motion. Rowdy Roddy Piper returns to the WWF to batter Adrian Adonis who had beaten Piper on Saturday Night’s Main Event by count-out, Piper looks for revenge on this night. Now, the big two that everyone talks about, Randy Macho Man Savage tried to crush the larynx of Ricky Steamboat with a ring-bell, Savage continued to feud with George Steele before Steamboat returned and now for the Intercontinental Championship, the two will battle at Wrestlemania. Finally, it’s Hulk Hogan vs Andre The Giant, two former friends. The undefeated Giant who turned on his friend out of jealousy, Hogan was heartbroken but most rally to try to defeat the undefeated in fifteen years, Andre The Giant. This is Wrestlemania 3, let’s get it on!

Opening Promo

This arena is absolutely massive, the Pontiac Silverdome brother. Vince welcomes everyone to the event, Miss Aretha Franklin sings America The Beautiful, she has just passed at the time of writing this review. WWE did a nice tribute to The Queen Of Soul and she kills it as only she can, may her soul rest in piece. Lots of imagery of Americans in action, serving their great country. I was never one for the patriotism pageantry but it could be effective in certain situations, the September 9/11 episode of Smackdown being a highlight or the tribute to the troops production packages. Gorilla Monsoon and Jesse Ventura along with our celebrity guests talk about the card.

The Can-Am Connection vs Don Muraco & Cowboy Bob Orton W/ Mr. Fuji

Tom Zenk and Rick Martel take on Bob Orton and Magnificent Muraco in the opening match, not my idea of a hot opening match. Muraco and Zenk are in the ring, Muraco shakes off Zenk. Side headlock by Zenk, shoulder block by Zenk. Muraco is not happy, Muraco brings Zenk to the corner. Zenk is whipped to the corner, leapfrog and hiptosses by Zenk. Side headlock by Muraco, Martel blind tags in, double monkey flip on Muraco. Double hiptoss on Orton, Orton is begging for mercy, side headlock and shoulder block by Orton. Scoop slam by Zenk, hiptoss and arm-bar by Zenk. Knee by Orton, full-nelson.

Orton is popped in the mouth from Muraco by mistake, two for Zenk. Tag to Martel, axe handle and leg drop on the arm. Arm-bar by Martel, tag to Zenk. Muraco tags in and eats a scoop slam, Orton nails Zenk from the apron. Neckbreaker by Muraco, fist drop by Orton for two. Both men bang heads off an Irish whip, Martel gets the hot-tag. Muraco Flair flips to the apron, Zenk pairs off with Muraco, Martel with Orton. Orton and Muraco run into one another, dropkicks to Muraco. Crossbody for the win, The Can-Am Connection win the match.

It was fine, Muraco and Orton had been two of my favourite performers in the WWF in the reviews that I have done this far, seems they were just whipping boys in this match, Martel and Zenk seem to be the new team on the block but it was average at best.

Winners: The Can-Am Conncetion Over Muraco & Orton via Crossbody!

Billy Jack Haynes vs Hercules Hernandez W/ Bobby Heenan

These two do not like one another at all, Haynes had been attacked by Hercules to set up this match. They start with lock-ups, Haynes has Hercules in the corner. Knees by Hercules, knee lift downs Haynes. Hercules eats a clothesline and scrambles to survive a full-nelson attempt. Hercules eats chops and right hands, Irish whip to the corner and Hercules comes flying out with a clothesline. Stomps by Hercules, back drop by Hercules. Hard Irish whip to the corner, multiple times.

Suplex from Hercules, two count with Hercules picking up Haynes to stop the count. Haynes battles from underneath, suplex fails as Haynes’ back is too damaged to lift Hercules. Hercules nails a backbreaker, military press slam as Hercules calls for the finish. Hercules applies a Full-Nelson, Haynes is fading and is down to a knee. Haynes survives, Haynes breaks free. Hercules pummels Haynes but both men clothesline one another. Inverted atomic drop by Haynes, clothesline by Haynes. Make it another, leg drop. Middle rope fist drop and Haynes applies a Full-Nelson. They fight on the floor and both men are counted out.

Not the memorable start to the show you would expect, not sure why Haynes did not get the win, Haynes broke the hold and it would have made sense for Haynes to have his redemption but apparently, it was not meant to be, the work was ok, the crowd came alive for Haynes when he escaped the hold but this was disappointing. Hercules smashes Haynes after the match with his chain, Haynes is bleeding everywhere.

Double Count-Out!

Hillbilly Jim/Little Beaver/The Haiti Kid vs King Kong Bundy/Little Tokyo/Lord Littlebrook

Well, it is different. Bundy and Jim surrounded by midgets three matches into the card of the most important pay per view at the time. We have a criss-cross, Haiti Kid and Beaver take down Littlebrook and Tokyo. Beaver has Tokyo, side headlock by Tokyo. Tokyo tags Littlebrook, they tie-up with a clean break. They stumble along before Bundy comes into the ring, Beaver stands his ground. Tag to Jim, Jim clotheslines Bundy. Elbow drop but Bundy kicks out, Bundy is slapped by Beaver. Bundy smacks Jim around, Avalanche by Bundy. Beaver is caught by Bundy, slam by Bundy. Elbow drop and I think Beaver is dead, Bundy cannot attack midgets, we have a DQ.

Well, this is absurd now. Not even fun comedy, three matches into Wrestlemania 3 and this show is awful what is going on here? Surely, this pay per view has been greatly embellished because this is madness!

Winners: Team Jim over Team Bundy via DQ!

King Harley Race W/ Bobby Heenan vs The Junkyard Dog (Loser Must Bow Match)

Race and Dog had their issues, Heenan constantly annoying JYD. Heenan grabs the foot of JYD, JYD gives chase but Race cuts off JYD. Headbutt by JYD, Race headbutts JYD and throws him to the floor. Race misses an apron headbutt, Dog clotheslines Race into the ring. Race tumbles to the floor, scoop slam by Junkyard Dog. Abdominal stretch is reversed by Race, headbutt has no effect. JYD throws Race to the floor, Headbutts by Junkyard Dog. Heenan is on the apron, Belly to Belly Suplex by Race for the win.

Hardly a match, Race was sent to the floor at least seven times, no real story with JYD getting distracted by Heenan for the finish, it went about four minutes and I think I am already sick of this show. Afterwards, JYD bows to the king and smacks Race with a chair.

Winner: Harley Race over Junkyard Dog via Belly To Belly Suplex!

The Rougeau Brothers vs The Dream Team W/ Dino Bravo & Johnny Valiant

Valentine and Beefcake lost their tag team championships to The British Bulldogs and have been on the decline since, this is a chance to bounce back though. Raymond and Beefcake start, Jacques and Raymond take out Beefcake who tags Valentine. Crossbody by Raymond for two, tag to Jacques. Elbow drop for two, Jacques is whipped to the corner and a middle rope crossbody attempt goes wrong. Valentine takes control, slam and tag to Beefcake who stomps Jacques. Tag to Valentine, axe handle and backbreaker combination. Figure Four, Jacques survives. Jacques reverses a piledriver, Raymond is in the match. Sleeper, Beefcake smacks Valentine by mistake. The Rougeau Brothers hit their finish but Dino Bravo smacks Jacques which leads to The Dream Team winning. DUD!

Winners: The Dream Team over The Rougeau Brothers via Sneak Attack!

Adorable Adrian Adonis W/ Jimmy Hart vs Rowdy Roddy Piper

Roddy Piper was thinking of retiring after this match so what better thing to do for Piper than turn him babyface and put him against one of the most obnoxious heels on the roster. Adonis stole everything from Piper which leads us to this match, Piper whips Adonis to start the match. Jimmy Hart is choked too, Adonis has the belt. Piper is whipped now, Piper reverses and throws Hart onto Adonis.

Side headlock, Piper is tripped by Jimmy Hart. Adonis catches his breath, back rake from Adonis. Clothesline by Adonis, elbow by Adonis. Jimmy Hart attacks Piper on the floor, Piper is asking for more from Adonis. They slug it out, Hart sprays Piper with perfume. Sleeper from Adonis, Piper is down on the mat in trouble. Adonis believes he has won but Piper is not done, Beefcake revives Piper. Piper knocks down Hart, Adonis smacks himself in the face with the clippers, Sleeper from Piper and Piper wins his final match. Adonis is shaved, all is well with the world.

Finally, a match you can sink your teeth into, this is brilliant. Piper is attacked by Adonis and Hart throughout the match, they tease count-outs and Adonis beating Piper masterfully. Crowd is molten lava for anything that Piper does, it would be a fitting farewell for one of the most hated heels of all-time transitioning into the realm of Hollywood, thank you Piper for doing wonderful things in that ring and saving this show in my eyes.

Winner: Roddy Piper over Adrian Adonis via Sleeper!

The Hart Foundation & Dangerous Danny Davis W/Jimmy Hart vs The British Bulldogs & Tito Santana

Davis had been a screwy referee throughout his WWF tenure which led to The Hart Foundation stealing the championships from The British Bulldogs, Davis is going to get what has been coming for a long time, Santana and Bret start off. Bret eats a boot, Bret tags in Neidhart and Davey Boy comes into the match. Neidhart eats a clothesline, tag to Santana who is choked in the corner by the heels. Clubbing blows by Neidhart, Davey Boy back drops Neidhart. Bret distracts Davey Boy, Neidhart clotheslines Davey Boy. Tag to Bret, Bret misses his elbow.

Dynamite takes down Bret with an Irish whip and clothesline, headbutt by Dynamite. Bret backs Dynamite in the corner, Neidhart helps Bret beat down Dynamite. Tag to Neidhart, camel clutch by Neidhart. Tag to Bret, double team on Dynamite, tag to Davis. A few stomps and a tag to Bret, right hands by Bret. Tag to Neidhart, stomps before a tag to Bret. Tag to Davis, boots by Davis. Tag to Bret, Bret tags in Davis. Davis misses a slingshot splash, Santana brutalizes Davis. Right hands, Flying Forearm by Santana. Neidhart stops the figure four, Davey Boy clotheslines Davis. Tombstone Piledriver on Davis, suplex and Running Powerslam. Neidhart saves Davis, the match breaks down but in the madness, Davis smashes Davey Boy with a megaphone for the win.

This was a lot of fun, you had some great selling from Dynamite Kid, The Hart Foundation were great when they isolated Dynamite Kid. Davis was fantastic, a slimy overconfident fool who would nail a kick or two before ultimately, taking the ass-kicking of a lifetime from one fiery red-hot Tito Santana, the card has picked up, some really good things coming from this show now.

Winners: Team Davis over Team Santana Via Megaphone Attack!

Butch Reed W/ Slick vs Koko B Ware

The Natural Butch Reed and Koko B Ware, they lock-up. Clean break from Koko, Reed says that Koko pulled his hair. Lock-up, Reed smashes the ribs of Koko, pummelling blows by Reed. Koko ducks an elbow, O Connor roll does not work. Dropkick by Koko, low right to the stomach. Reed is whipped, huge right hand by Reed. Reed smashes Koko into the turnbuckles, Reed eats a hiptoss. Rights and lefts by Koko, dropkick for two. Small package by Koko for two, crossbody but Reed rolls through with a handful of tights for the win.

Reed gets the win in a match that is nothing special, Reed does not look great coming out of the match and Koko does not comes out looking any worse. The match was just there but at least it had a finish compared to the earlier portions of the card. I just wonder what they really wanted to accomplish with this match.

Winner: Butch Reed over Koko B Ware Via Handful Of Tights!

(WWF Intercontinental Championship Match) Randy Macho Man Savage © W/ Miss Elizabeth vs Ricky The Dragon Steamboat W/ George The Animal Steele

The match that has a tonne of heat going into it, Ricky Steamboat is the epitome of a babyface, every quality that you wish you had, Steamboat has it in bucketloads. Savage tried to crush the windpipe of Steamboat, Steamboat came back better than ever and now Savage has his grand prize up for grabs. Lock-up, Savage is shaken off by Steamboat. Savage nails his Elbow Drop, no referee. Savage has the ring-bell, Steele shoves Savage off the top rope. Savage tries a scoop slam but Steamboat counters for a roll-up, Steamboat is your new champion.

Hard to say anything new about this match, it was seen as ushering in a new style in the States for wrestling, it was such a fast-paced match, Steamboat sold his ass off like only Steamboat could, Steele pays off a year of story-telling by giving the final fuck you to Savage after a year of abuse, Savage and Steamboat stole the show at this Wrestlemania by putting on a type of match that would be the golden standard for many Wrestlemania matches, they were lightyears ahead of everyone, great stuff from these two.

Jake The Snake Roberts W/ Alice Cooper vs Honky Tonk Man W/ Jimmy Hart

Inverted atomic drop, Roberts smacks Honky. Lefts and rights by Roberts, Honky is begging for mercy. Back drop by Roberts, Honky is smacked to the apron. Hart stomps the DDT, Honky rolls-up Roberts with the ropes for leverage.

Not bad, not great either. Honky is a heat magnet though, quickly ascending up the card and beating Jake Roberts, that is a big win for Honky. Roberts and his DDT are over like rover, guaranteed to get a reaction on any given night but I would have loved to seen the two have a longer match but it was fine on this night.

Winner: Honky Tonk Man over Jake Roberts Via Roll-Up!

Nikolai Volkoff & Iron Sheik vs The Killer Bees

Volkoff and Sheik jump The Killer Bees, Hacksaw Jim Duggan is in the corner of The Bees. Sheik eats slaps and right hands, Sheik is whipped off the ropes. Double elbow, tag to Blair. Axe handle, tag to Brunzell. More axe handles, double hiptoss. Sheik’s arm is destroyed as elbow after elbow come down on Sheik. Dropkick, Volkoff saves Sheik. Brunzell is beaten down by Volkoff and Sheik, knee to the ribs by Volkoff. Tag to Sheik, Sheik roughs up Brunzell. Volkoff applies a bearhug, Brunzell eats a gutwrench suplex for two. Make it two, Brunzell is in the ring with Sheik. Duggan waffles Sheik with 2x4.

What a waste of a match, Duggan just cost The Killer Bees the match because he could not pass up using that 2x4, the match was not really going anywhere before that point mind you but another DQ on this card just sucks me out of the hold thing.

Winners: Sheik & Volkoff over The Killer Bees via DQ!

(WWF World Heavyweight Championship Match) Hulk Hogan © vs Andre The Giant

This is thee match, the match of all matches. Andre was undefeated for fifteen years, untouchable and the WWF congratulated Andre with a trophy. Hogan was also congratulated by the WWF for a four-year reign as WWF Champion. Andre was bitter and Heenan manipulated Andre which leads us to this match, Hogan was broken by the betrayal of his best friend Andre The Giant, Hogan was the man in the WWF but could he defeat Andre The Giant? This was massive, it feels massive. It has the atmosphere, this is the money match.

Stare-down between the two, Hogan is shaking with rage as Andre remains motionless, no emotion from Andre as he stares a whole through Hogan. Hogan is seething, Hogan is beyond fired up. The two shove one another, right hands by Hogan, a slam does not work as Andre falls on Hogan, it was almost over. Hogan is clutching his back, Andre goes after the back. Clubbing blows, Hogan is being battered. Coconut crushes from Andre, massive scoop slam by Andre.

Another scoop slam by Andre, Hogan is rolling around in pain. Andre steps all over Hogan, Andre taunts Hogan asking him to get to his feet. Irish whip to the corner, shoulder blocks by Andre. Andre misses a boot, Hogan clotheslines Andre down. Hogan is Hulking Up! Andre staggers to his feet, Hogan slams Andre, and nails The Atomic Leg Drop for the win!

Such an important match, I thought they told a very entertaining story with Andre being undefeated, Andre being damn near unstoppable and Hogan not being able to do a thing to Andre. Through grit determination and courage, Hogan manages to thwart Andre, time after time Hogan comes back and then, the slam. A moment that lives in history, sure Andre had been slammed by the likes of Stan Hansen and Hogan himself but not in the WWF, Andre was seldom knocked off his feet but here Hogan does the unthinkable and saves the WWF from Andre’s dominance, it is a fantastic piece of story-telling and wrestling history, can you really shit all over it? Possibly but I will not be the man to do it, a great end to Wrestlemania.

Winner: Hulk Hogan over Andre The Giant Via Atomic Leg Drop!

That was WWF’s Wrestlemania 3, arguably the most important and biggest Wrestlemania of all-time. Is the card up to that billing? No, much of this card could not help this show in the slightest, the first four matches could be removed as we had midgets, DQs and count-outs, the short matches did not have an impact on me and did not suck me into the show. Things change big time with Piper’s match, Piper vs Adonis has a tremendous atmosphere made sweeter by Piper being a babyface and it being his farewell match, it just works so God damn well, it is a great moment. Team Santana vs Team Davis is a great tag team match with Davis being the star in the match, the Intercontinental Championship was fantastic, so fresh and different to the rest of the card, Steamboat as the essential babyface and Savage being as unlikeable as possible it was perfect. Hogan vs Andre was electric, one of the best matches in terms of pure atmosphere alone. So, Wrestlemania 3 when it was bad, was very bad but when it was good, it was amazing, you have so many memorable moments and matches that it is no wonder this is the Wrestlemania that cemented the WWF. Thanks for reading and remember: There’s always another night!

Passable, I am baffled by Young's popluarity. I imagine Young must have a great connection with the fans but I just do not buy it, it is working though. The match was passable as I mentioned, A1 will not be around for too much longer.

Winner: Eric Young over A1 via Neckbreaker!

Jay Lethal vs Petey Williams

Beautiful theatrics to begin, spring board dropkick by Lethal for two. Williams slides under Lethal, Lethal is launched into the guard rail. Knees to the back, Lethal fires back. Somebody shitting themselves because they were watching Jackass? Was this even co-promotion? I am not even sure but that was crap no pun intended.

Runt falls through the tables, Mitchell saves Runt from being pinned. Raven tries a bulldog on Runt but is pushed into A Black Hole Slam. Decent garbage brawl.

Winner: Abyss via Black Hole Slam!

The Naturals vs AMW vs The Paparazzi vs The Diamonds In The Rough vs Shark Boy & Norman Smiley vs Maverick Matt & Kazarian vs Ron Killings & Lance Hoyt vs The James Gang

Winner gets a shot at the tag team titles, first half is over the top followed by a normal match between two teams. It goes on and on until we eventually, get down to The Naturals and through cheating, their opponents are AMW. Stevens is in real pain while Douglas is being pummelled by Storm. Tag to Harris, double elbow by AMW. Delayed vertical suplex, Stevens is struggling big time. Douglas is brutalized at ringside too, Douglas holds the ropes to survive. Storm nails a big fist, two for Storm.

Eye of The Storm on Douglas, calling for The Death Sentence. The James Gang who had been screwed earlier distract Harris, Storm has Stevens. Eye of The Storm is countered and Stevens manages to roll-up Storm for the win.

Ok, first off the battle royal part was pointless in terms of in-ring action. Nothing ahppened it dragged and wasted so much time. Secondly, you talk about The Naturals beating the odds and proving themselves..... They did fuck all it was The James Gang who won them the match. Douglas got beat for 7 minutes while Stevens never hit a move beyond the roll-up. Proved themselves? How? Took a cheap win? Fuck off TNA.

Winners: The Naturals Via Roll-Up!

(TNA X Division Championship Match) Senshi (C) vs Chris Sabin

The new X Division is not very new is it? Just being harsh, Senshi is the face of the division but Sabin fresh off the Nash feud is here to stand up to the bully that is Senshi. They start off slow applying ssubmission and wear-down holds. Drop toehold by Sabin, dropkick and kicks are dodged before a stand-off.

Senshi with one kick, sends Sabin to the floor. Sabin shoots for a takedown, headscissors. Cover for two, roll-ups for two. Senshi kicks away Sabin, chops by Senshi. Sabin trips Senshi, tope atomico. Senshi counters a suplex with a knee, rolling kappu kick. Muta flashing elbow for two, Knees by Senshi. Chop fest, spinning sole butt and hook kick by Senshi for two. Bodyscissors and cover for two, chopfest. Sabin kicks Senshi to the floor, Senshi blocks the suicide dive with a massive head kick.

Sabin fires back with forearms before an enzuigiri from Senshi. Warrior's Way as Sabin is draped across the middle rope. Two for Senshi, stiff chops from Senshi. Another chopfest, forearms by Sabin. Kick and forearm by Senshi, more chops. Sabin dragon screws Senshi, forearms. Kick by Senshi, alley oop by Sabin. High boot in the corner, tree of owe for Senshi. Senshi kicks his way out, tilt-a-whirl backbreaker and springboard dropkick by Sabin for two.

Sabin has Senshi, knee by Senshi. Front slam, kicks by Senshi. Sabin is floored, springboard kick by Senshi misses. Sabin nails an enzuigiri, Sabin climbs the top rope. Cartwheel into a kick, Senshi is in the tree of woe. Hesitation dropkick by Sabin for two, Senshi elbows his way out of a powerbomb, double stomp by Senshi. Dutt and Lethal are here, Lethal has a blow-up doll. Senshi dives on the doll, clothesline by Sabin. Senshi kicks the doll into Sabin for the win.

Garbage, what the fuck was that? Sabin went from fighting for the X Division to using a blow up doll to cheat? A blow-up doll in TNA's golden period? A BLOW UP DOLL FOR GOD'S SAKE! DUD!

Winner: Senshi over Chris Sabin Via John Wu Dropkick!

Rhino vs Christian Cage

TNA turned Christian for no real reason, makes no sense for such a hot babyface to be turned heel. Rhino and Christian were former best friends, they were as close as Christian was to Edge. Christian is heeling it up and Rhino is showing fire that I have not seen in him since his ECW days. This should be a blood brawl, they start with a test of strength.....

Rhino unloads, clotheslines and right hands. Irish whip into a military press, Christian escapes. Unprettier is countered for a back drop, Gore is avoided as Christian runs away. Atomic drop by Rhino, clothesline and corner spear. Christian boots Rhino, Rhino is on the apron. Shoulder blocks and Christian is back dropped by Rhino to the floor. Into the crowd we go, Rhino military presses Christian ringside. Eye poke by Christian, Christian DDTs Rhino hard.

Rhino is bleeding after the DDT on the ramp, Christian stomps and punches the eyes of Rhino and the cut. Boot by Christian for two, reverse chinlock by Christian. Rhino fights back before Christian yanks him down by the hair. Missile dropkick for two for Christian, neckbreaker by Christian. Frog Splash for two, chops by Christian. Christian misses a corner splash, Rhino nails a shoulder block. Corner spear, belly to belly suplex for two. Christian leapfrogs Rhino, spinebuster by Rhino.

Rhino lines up for The Gore, Christian boots Rhino in the eye. Powerslam by Rhino as Christian bounces off the ropes, Christian rakes the eyes. Unprettier, 1......2..... Rhino kicks out of The Unprettier. Christian tries the gore, TKO by Rhino for two. Rhino clotheslines the referee, Edge O Matic by Christian. Christian has chairs for the conchairto, Rhino dodges the chair. Gore by Rhino, no referee. Rhino wants a conchairto, referee takes the chair. Low blow and Unprettier on the chair for the win.

It was alright, my main problem comes with the story they are trying to tell, the commentators are talking like Rhino should not compete on doctors' orders, that is no problem. But Rhino's blood tries up fairly early, I would have been more sold if Rhino was gushing blood throughout the match, not a lot of brawling either. The intensity fades and it is not the blood bath it needs to be.

Winner: Christian over Rhino via Unprettier!

(NWA/TNA Tag Team Championship Match) LAX (C) vs AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels (Ultimate X Match)

LAX captured the gold in a border brawl match so Styles & Daniels invoked the rematch clause which leads us to this Ultimate X Match. Styles and Daniels being my favourite tag team in TNA at the time taking on LAX, Homicide's shoulder is all taped up in this match, take note of that.

Hernandez eats calf kicks and dropkicks, Homicide nails an elbow on Styles. Styles is catapulted into a belly to belly suplex, Homicide begins climbing towards the cables. Homicide is brought down, Daniels nails a single arm DDT on Homicide, Homicide is clutching the arm in the corner. Elbows and sentons for Hernandez, Daniels protects Styles as Styles climbs. Homicide brings down Styles, Homicide has a chair.

Homicide dives onto Daniels tope style. Fosbury Flop by Styles onto Homicide, Daniels stops Hernandez diving. Complete shot into a Koji Clutch by Daniels, Homicide saves Hernandez. Hernandez catches Styles, powerbomb by Hernandez. Hernandez gets a ladder, Homicide begins climbing. Styles shoves the ladder into Homicide, Hernandez is crotched onto one of the legs of the ladder. Daniels is throat tossed off the top turnbuckle, corner splash by Hernandez on Styles.

Running powerslam on Styles, Hernandez is knocked off the cables by Styles. Homicide whacks down Styles with a chair, Homicide begins climbing. Styles chases Homicide, Cutter by Homicide onto Styles. Daniels is climbing, Hernandez has Daniels doomsday style. Steiner bulldog by LAX, Hernandez climbs the cables. Styles pulls Hernandez down onto Homicide, Styles clotheslines and Pele kicks everything in sight.

Eye poke by Homicide, springboard reverse DDT by Styles, Styles & Daniels suplex on Hernandez. Homicide boots down Daniels, slam to Styles. Frog Splash misses, High & Low by the challengers. Hernandez clotheslines the challengers, Konnan pulls out a table. Derailer on Daniels by Hernandez, Daniels stops the border toss. Uranage on Hernandez, Frog Splash and BME combination. Spinal Tap by Styles, Homicide is on the apron. Styles joins Homicide, Styles Clash through the table at ringside.

Hernandez and Daniels are left in the ring, Konnan has his slapjack. Daniels is climbing the cables, Daniels climbs the outer structure to escape LAX. Daniels dives onto the championships in the middle of the structure and brings down the championships.

That was great, this was not a series of dives with no reasons or rhyme, this has some fine psychology inside of that ring. Homicide could not climb due to his shoulder, they use ladders to help Homicide. They send up big man Hernandez so Homicide does not have to climb, Homicide climbs up as a last resort. Daniels fights off LAX to let Styles clmb, they use Spinal taps and Koji Clutches to wear down Hernandez, so much good stuff about this match. It is a great Ultimate X Match.

Winners: Styles & Daniels over LAX Via Retrieval Of The Championships!

Samoa Joe vs Jeff Jarrett

It is a fan's revenge match, fans have straps to whip whoever spills to the floor. Jarrett is wearing a shirt, I feel this is an actual shoot but that would be ridiculous right? Joe high kicks Jarrett hard, lefts by Joe. Corner forearm and enzuigiri, they tease Jarrett falling to the floor a lot. Saving the pay-off, uranage slam by Joe. Jarrett gets whipped like a dog, nobody whips Joe.

Jarrett stole a strap, Joe is whipped by Jarrett. Jarrett nails a crossbody for two, crossbody for two again. Joe walks away, huge boot by Joe. Senton, chops by Joe. Jarrett is whipped by everyone, Joe whips Jarrett. Dropkick out of desperation by Double J, Joe powerslams Jarrett for two. Roll-up by Jarrett for two, Jarrett chokes Joe with a shirt. Jarrett is whipped by fans, referees enter the ring. Jarrett has his guitar, Coquina Clutch. Low blow by Jarrett, STroke on the guitar for two. Joe misses high knee, Jarrett tries super stroke. But no, Muscle Buster and it is over.

While ti was fine, you could have easily done this match on Impact, I see no reason for this to headline a pay per view. Also, how can Joe not be champion by this stage? That's two pay per views where Joe has pinned the champion with ease, Jarrett is right up after the muscle buster too. Not a fan of that at all, that's bullshit but this card has mostly been poor. So, your pay per view main event was an average Impact main event.

Winner: Samoa Joe over Jeff Jarrett via Muscle Buster!

That was TNA's No Surrender 2006, a one match show. I felt insulted by waht the X Division brought to this show, people playing pranks and shitting themselves? A blow-up doll? The fans chanted stupid, it was stupid and I hope they correct themselves in time for the next pay per view because it was garbage. Rhino and Christian lacked the heat it needed for the feud and Joe killing Jarrett means nothing because they are not putting that championship on Joe. Watch the Ultimate X Match, skip the rest! Thanks for reading and remember: There's always another night!

TNA Hard Justice 2006 Review

Image result for tna hard justice 2006

Hello and welcome to another edition of Seanomaniac Wrestling Reviews; the only wrestling review series on the internet that is more without direction than Mike Kanellis! TNA's Hard Justice 2006, Sting has his match with Jarrett, Jarrett is champion but Sting is here where can Jarrett run? LAX vs Styles & Daniels, Samoa Joe vs Rhino vs Monty Brown? What? How did Joe get there? Oh well, it is TNA!

Eric Young vs Johnny Devine

When Team Canada was forced to disband, Eric Young was blamed by Scott D'Amore Young wishes to not get fired and wrestle his heart out while Johnny Devine is punking out his former stablemate.

Slap by Devine, eye poke by Young. Big right by Devine, forearms by Devine. Knees in the corner for two, Young tries a crucifix for two. Devine regains control, snapmare and knee drops by Devine. Slaps by Devine, Young fires up. Slingshot reverse DDT for two, smoke fills the ring as there was a pyro disaster. Cant see the wrestlers, are you kidding me? Devine misses a springboard moonsault, small package by Young for two. Uppercut by Devine, Young nails a powerbomb. Discuss lariat, Devine eats a massive elbow drop for two. Young sunset flips from the apron, roll through. Wheelbarrow Neckbreaker and it's over.

What a shit-show, not the launching match for Young's babyface turn. Could not see have the action, the fans did not care while the smoke was in the arena. Young was popular though, I shall give them that the fans are buying into Eric Young.

Winner: Eric Young over Johnny Devine via Wheelbarrow Neckbreaker!

Chris Sabin vs Alex Shelley

Shelley grabs the ropes quick, avoiding Sabin's speed. They mat wrestle, series of pins. Arm-drags and hiptosses everywhere, Shelley asks for a break. Sabin arm-drags Shelley once more, springboard dropkick. Two for Sabin, Sabin mocks Nash and nails a dropkick. Shelley escapes a back drop, eye rake by Shelley. Bulldog by Shelley, springboard moonsault for two. Jawbreaker by Sabin, reverse elbow by Shelley. Sabin sends Shelley to the floor, suicide dive.

Claw by Shelley, spinning sole butt and enzuigiri by Sabin. Dropkick to the knee and leg drop for two, running boot by Sabin. Shelley nails an inverted atomic drop, crossface from Shelley. Shelley gets stuck in the tree of woe, hesitation dropkick by Sabin. Yokasuka Cutter by Sabin, two for Sabin. Shelley bites Sabin, backstabber by Shelley. Shell-shock by Shelley, Sabin kicks out at two. Shelley has a chair, sliced bread is blocked. Dropkick with the chair by Sabin, Cradle Shock and it is over.

That was decent, I like that they are extending the feud between Nash and Sabin, Shelley is such an annoying sidekick, it works so well with Nash. Shelley may be one of the only actual heels in the division as well in a division where most guys are interested in flying as opposed to character work.

Winner: Chris Sabin over Alex Shelley via Cradle Shock!

Brother Runt vs Abyss

Runt comes out like Robert De Niro in Taxi, Runt spears Abyss in the chest twice. Crossbody does not work, Abyss tosses Runt into the crowd. Runt dives onto Abyss with a crossbody, Runt has steel chairs. Abyss wedges a chair into the turnbuckle, Abyss hurls Runt into the chair. Abyss corner splashes Runt, Abyss and Runt brawl on the top rope. Chain shot by Runt, double foot stomp for two. Low blow by Runt, Acid Drop for two. Referee gets squished, Shock Treatment. Abyss spreads the tacks, Runt has his head stomped into the tacks. Runt fires up, headbutts. Press slam on the tacks, Black Hole Slam for the win.

Well it was a match, Raven controlling Runt and Abyss destorys Runt. Tacks are no longer shocking to me, Abyss uses them all the time. It had some cool moments, the chair shot and the stomping into the tacks. But it was fine.

Winner: Abyss over Runt via Black Hole Slam!

Rhino vs Samoa Joe vs Monty Brown

What a waste of Joe, I am not happy. Brown takes control clotheslining everyone. Brown is out on the floor, plancha by Rhino. Suicide dive by Joe, Brown smacks Joe with a trash can. Joe kicks the can into his face, Rhino and Joe brawl. Lots of crowd brawling, pieces of walls are used. This continues for a long time, we get back to the ring eventually with Joe in control. Inverted atomic drop, big boot and senton on Brown. Rhino spinebusters Joe on the chair for two, Joe sunset flip powerbombs Rhino for two.

Joe and Brown battle up the ramp, right hands by Joe. Brown knees Joe, neckbreaker on the ramp. Rhino clocks both with a trash can lid, Rhino grabs a table. Rhino misses a gore and craches off the ramp, Samoa Joe  uranages Brown off the ramp through the table for the win.

Why is Joe in this feud? Joe should be in the main event being the champion. Why do a hardcore brawl after you already did a hardcore brawl in the last match? Why so much crowd brawling? How does Joe winning settle or continue the feud between Rhino and Brown?

Winner: Samoa Joe over Everyone Else via Uranage!

Gail Kim vs Sirelda

Oh fuck me, these two are wrestling? Shoulder block and clothesline by Sirelda, military press slam. Elbow for two, chokeslam is blocked. Gail hotshots Sirelda. Mounted punches by Gail, Tarantula by Gail. Middle rope leg drop, Gail misses a crossbody. Sirelda makes the comeback, falling front slam for two. Gail rakes the eyes, Sirelda tries a powerslam but Gail nails a blockbuster for the win. Gail tried hard, Sirelda is awful. DUD!

Winner: Gail Kim over Sirelda via Blockbuster!

(X Division Championship Match) Senshi (C) vs Jay Lethal vs Petey Williams

All three men attack one another, Williams nails his slingshot hurricanrana. Senshi nails a Sasuke special on Lethal and Williams, Senshi kicks Lethal around the ring. Reverse elbox by Senshi, Williams comes into the match. Lethal eats a suplex, Senshi kicks Williams in the chest hard. Lethal eats boots from Senshi, Williams boots Lethal. Senshi and Williams work together against Lethal. Senshi turns on Williams, big kicks by Senshi.

Senshi is clubbed by Williams, Lethal dropkicks Williams and Senshi. Lethal hiptosses Senshi, slam to Williams. Double dropkick, diving leg lariat by Lethal. Lethal Combination on Senshi for two, Williams legsweeps Lethal. German suplex by Lethal on Williams for two, series of pins by every man for two. Williams has Lethal, sharpshooter. Kick to the back of the head by Senshi, Lethal Dragon Suplexes Senshi. Williams makes the save, Lethal misses Diving Dynamite. Canadian Destroyer on Lethal, Senshi kicks away Williams and steals the win.

Very good match, it will take time to get the level of Styles, Daniels and Joe but Senshi certainly has a presence about him and is more than enough to carry the division but we need built up challengers, we cannot have Williams and Sabin over and over.

Winner: Senshi over Everyone Else Via Stealing The Pin!

(NWA/TNA Tag Team Championship Match) LAX W/ Konnan vs AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels (C)

Daniels and Hernandez start, Daniels uses his quickness. Right hands, shoulder block by Hernandez. Scoop slam, Daniels escapes a leg drop. Low dropkick, headscissors and leaping leg lariat. Styles and Homicide brawl, Styles clears the ring. Daniels tags in, stomps by Daniels. Tag to Styles, double powerbomb and knee drop. Two for Styles, LAX take control. Corner splash by Hernandez for two, tag to Homicide. Reverse chinlock, Styles is thrown to the apron. Hernandez stops the springboard, Homicide nails Styles with a huge cannonball through the ropes.

Konnan gets in some cheap shots, Hernandez stretches Styles. Styles stops Homicide's suplex and hangs Homicide on the top rope. Styles tags Daniels, clotheslines and forearms. Bulldog and enzuigiri on LAX, split-legged moonsault. Two for Daniels, Hernandez dives onto Daniels after knocking him to the floor. Styles nails a springboard shooting star press onto everyone, suplex and crossbody combination for two. Daniels eats a Steiner Bulldog, Styles saves Daniels.

Pele and high knee on Hernandez, Homicide eats a uranage. Konnan shoves Styles off the top rope, Hernandez slams Daniels. Border Toss and Gringo Killer fails, Homicide is thrown into Hernandez and a huge high and low combination ends this match, the champions retain.

This was a lot of fun, Styles and Daniels continue to be the most entertaining team in the tag team division withe their chemistry, they are always in the right place, they seem to do everything perfectly. LAX are blossoming into an awesome heel team, they have the mouthpiece and Hernandez is much better than Machete, this was the best match so far.

Winners: Styles & Daniels over LAX via High and Low!

(NWA/TNA World Heavyweight Championship Match) Jeff Jarrett (C) W/ Scott Steiner vs Sting W/ Christian Cage

Jarrett cheated his way to the gold, Sting earned the right to challenge for the championship by winning a fatal four way. Shoulder block from Sting, Jarrett is running like a mad man. Slap by Jarrett, Sting looks for the deathlock. Jarrett powders, they crowd brawl for the next few minutes.

Steiner waffles Sting with a chair behind the referee's back, Steiner suplexes Christian on the floor. Jarrett works the knee, kicking it and dropping his weight on the knee. Figure Four, Sting reverses the hodl and escapes. Stinger splash misses, stroke is countered for Scorpion Death Drop. Referee is pulled out, Christian and Steiner brawl. Steiner passes Jarrett the championship, Jarrett misses. Sting nails Jarrett with the championship, no referee. Jarrett places his foot on the ropes, Steiner whacks Sting with a chair. Sting falls on Jarrett's area, Christian and Steiner brawl. Christian cracks Jarrett with the chair, the referee sends Christian out of the arena.

Steiner is gone too, Sting misses a dropkick. Jarrett looks for the deathlock, Jarrett applies the sharpshooter. Sting reverses the hold, Jarrett reaches the ropes. Sting splashes the referee as Jarrett pulls hm in the way. Stroke by Jarrett, Steiner hands Jarrett the guitar. Christian stops Steiner and Jarrett, Sting looks to dive on Jarrett. Christian cracks Sting with the guitar, Jarrett covers Sting for the win.

Damn You Jarrett and your fetish for insane main event booking, we have people ejected, we have referee's knocked down. And a big old heel turn to end it, you have had like three angles in one match, calm it down man. Also, I do not understand this in the slightest. If Sting is your guy to beat Jarrett and you need to get to Bound For Glory for the title change, why do you have the title match two months prior? It would leave space for Joe to murder Jarrett and Sting to go after Christian but you are not going there are you TNA?

Winner: Jeff Jarrett over Sting via Guitar!

That was TNA's Hard Justice 2006, a bad show in the books for TNA. It gets off to a horrible start and never really recovers for me, the tag team match is good as is Sabin vs Shelley and Senshi's dominance but there is so much nothing on this card. Two hardcore matches back to back, Sirelda flopping around the ring. Young vs Devine being ruined by smoke and a main event that makes no sense with a heel turn on a super hot babyface because there is only room for Sting at the top baby. Thanks for reading and remember: There's always another night!
