WCW Fall Brawl 2000

Image result for wcw fall brawl 2000

Hello and welcome to another edition of Seanomaniac Wrestling Reviews, the only wrestling review series on the internet that comes back from the dead more times than The Undertaker! It is WCW's Fall Brawl 2000 which is headlined by Kevin Nash defending against Booker T and Scott Steiner challenges Goldberg! Those are big matches but do I have faith in WCW to pull off these matches? More than likely not but I have to try so here it is!

Opening Promo

The matches are recapped through stop motion with WCW action figures, Booker T's attire is horribly outdated so it comes off as the right thing for WCW, they cannot even execute a simple promo properly. Anyways, Steiner vs Goldberg will be awesome based on those promos.

(WCW Cruiserweight Championship Match) Elix Skipper (C) W/ Major Gunns vs Kwee Wee W/ Paisley

We went from Lt. Loco and Juvi to Kwee Wee and Elix Skipper, that is the change in just under two months. Kwee wee is a hair stylist turned wrestler while Skipper is my favourite wrestler to watch fuck things up in TNA, they start out matwrestling with Kwee Wee beating Skipper until Skipper stomps Kwee Wee and nails huge uppercuts. Two for Skipper, Kwee Wee elevates Skipper to the apron but Skipper leaps over for a forearm to the back and a dragon suplex for two. Slingshot leg drop by Skipper for two, reverse chinlock by the champion. Kwee Wee fires up, crossbody with Skipper botching falling over the top rope. Skipper drops Kwee Wee off the apron, huge moonsault that Skipper wipes out the camera.

Two for Skipper in the ring, punch to the face by Skipper. Short powerbomb from Kwee Wee, here are The Natural Born Thrillers. Knee lift by Kwee Wee, huge hiptoss and a Lou Thesz press. Dropkick by Kwee Wee for two, back body drop by Skipper for two. Skipper is thrown to the floor, Kwee Wee drops Skipper across the guard rail. Mike Sanders enters the ring and wipes out the knee of Kwee Wee, Paisley slaps Skipper is that not a DQ? Crossbody that Kwee Wee rolls through, Skipper attacks the leg. Matrix spot and chop block by Skipper, Overdrive and Skipper wins this match.

This was all over the place, quality of the roster is at an all-time low but I fear it will get worse as the year finishes out, finish was bizarre too. They set up the leg being injured and Kwee Wee fought back for a minute and flat as a pancake, Skipper hits one of the worst finishes you have ever seen. Skipper was nowhere ready for pay per view and Kwee Wee feels like a straight swap for The Prince Formerly Known As Prince Iaukea.

Winner: Elix Skipper over Kwee Wee via Overdrive!

Three Count vs MIA

This should be some fun comedy between these two, I spy with my little eye The Destroyer sitting in the crowd. Sweet Jesus that poor legend had to watch this trash! Loco and Shannon start, elbows and a snapmare by Shannon. Chop by Loco, wheelbarrow suplex by Loco. Tag to Cajun, lefts and theatrics before an Irish whip but Shannon nails a moonsault. Karagias comes in, flapjack by Cajun. Helms hits Cajun from the ropes, leaping calf kick by Karagias. In comes Helms and Awol, spinebuster by Awol. Tag to Cajun, scoop slam and Cajun is tripped from the outside by Helms. Samoan Drop:Neckbreaker combination by Helms and Shannon for two, Shannon puts the boots to Cajun.

High knee in the corner, rocker dropper for two. Karagias tags in and combines with Shannon for a suplex/crossbody combination. Powerslam by Karagias on Cajun, huge elbow for two. Sunset flip by Helms for two, Cajun begins to fight back with Helms. Russian legsweep by Helms, twisting splash from the now legal Shannon. Shannon chokes Cajun, springboard facebuster by Cajun to stop Shannon. Tag to Awol, right hands to all the little men of Three Count, backbreakers and big boot. Low blow by Helms, Cajun is dropped by Shannon, springboard senton by Shannon. Loco dives onto Shannon, Karagias dives onto Cajun and Helms.

Helms wants to dive, Awol wants the chokeslam. Three count save one another and Awol is superkicked through the table, Loco is thrown into the ring. Helms superkicks Karagias by mistake, Loco powerbombs Shannon for two. Three Count double DDT Loco and Cajun, Awol is up and smacks around everyone. Cajun grabs Helms and nails a Samoan Driver for the win.

It was fun, Three Count were terrified of Awol. They built up to the tag quite well, the action was fast and everywhere, it was enjoyable. I thought I would have hated a match that was focused on Cajun but Cajun did fine in his rĂ´le, Awol looked good and we had a fun six-man tag match at the end of the day.

Winners: MIA over Three Count via Samoan Driver!

Kronik vs The Harris Brothers (First Blood Leather Chain Match)

If there was ever two teams I did not want to see go at it, it would be these two. Kronik were the team to beat in the tag division, I voiced concern about who could they work with and this was WCW's answer. The Harris Brothers, fuck my luck. Bryan Adams knows the match will suck so Adams makes the match a first blood chain match. Double the stipulation, double the carnage. They brawl and brawl and brawl and brawl, lots of grunting and whipping, not much rhyme or reason. Referee takes a bump, one of The Harris Brothers is bleeding but he has a baseball bat with barbed wire on it. Don opens up Bryan Adams, The Harris Brothers are announced as the winners. GARBAGE/DUD!

Winners: The Harris Brothers over Kronik via First Blood!

(WCW United States Championship Match) Lance Storm (C) W/ Major Gunns vs General Rection W/ Jim Duggan

Do I smell a swerve? Of course I do, that is the only thing that happens in this company. General Rection is fighting for the championship and Major Gunns' freedom, Storm attacks Rection who fires up with chops of his own. Back drop, huge right hands and Storm is thrown to the floor. Storm tries a crucifix, samoan drop by Rection. Corner splash, Storm dodges the second splash, scoop slam by Storm. Rection has Storm on the top rope, superplex by Rection. Two for Rection, right handds before a low blow by Storm. Storm stomps Rection, huge boot and a lovely superkick by Storm for two. Dropkick by Storm for two, plancha by Storm.

Rection meets the guard rail, Storm taunts Duggan. Rection fights back, jawbreaker by Storm. Powerslam by Rection for two, Rection nails a Dr. Bomb for two. Dragon screw legwhip by Storm, Rection dodges the maple leaf.. German suplex by Rection, clothesline to the floor. Major Gunns has the referee distracted, Rection wants the moonsault and Duggan cracks Rection with the 2x4. Duggan turns heel and reveals to be a Canadian Patriot as Storm applies The Maple Leaf to a knocked out Rection.

Must I rate this mess? Why? Duggan is retired what is the payoff for this angle? Why do we have Rection competing for The US Championship when there are so many better workers in the company? This was an awful angle and waste of time, I have no interest in seeing the end of this debacle.

Winner: Lance Storm over General Rection via Shenanigans!

(Elimination Match) Natural Born Thrillers vs The Filthy Animals/Big Vito/ Paul Orndorff

So, we have a stable of everyone who is generic and green as goose shit against a group that spent months as heels despite their appeal as high-flying babyfaces, Orndorff's arm is so noticeable, the man was not joking when he said he did not get it corrected as he was working on top. Mysterio and Jindrak begin, Jindrak suplexes Mysterio. Back elbow by Jindrak, Mysterio is thrown to the floor. Jindrak is suckered in for a springboard leg drop, springboard by Mysterio goes wrong as Jindrak nails a sidewalk slam. Powerslam by O Haire, Juvi is in the ring. Kicks by Juvi, Juvi nails a springboard dropkick. O Haire slams Juvi with a falcon's arrow, Juvi is attacked by Jindrak before a headscissors by The Juice.

In comes Vito, Japanese armdrag and leg drop, tag by Disco. Inverted atomic drop and clothesline for two, tilt-a-whirl sidewalk slam by Jindrak. O Haire is in, superkick by O Haire. Swinging neckbreaker by Disco, rolling clothesline by Konnan. Superkick and K-Factor by Konnan, huge chop by O Haire. Konnan hits Disco by mistake, Disco Last Dances Konnan and Konnan is out of this match.

Konnan Has Been Eliminated!

Stamboli spinebusters Disco but misses the leg drop, Disco is not being tagged as Vito smacks Disco in the mouth. Reno nails Disco with CrossRhodes for the elimination.

Disco Has Been Eliminated!

Reno and Vito square off, there is supposed to be history between the two. Inverted atomic drop and mafia kick by Vito, Palumbo tags in but eats a Big Vito Special with Stamboli saving Palumbo. Juvi and Reno reset, dropkick by Juvi. Ten punches, spinning heel kick from the top rope. Tag to Mysterio, splash by Mysterio and leg lariat by Juvi. Juvi Driver on Reno, leg drop on the nuts by Mysterio and Reno has been defeated.

Reno Has Been Eliminated!

O Haire and Jindrak attack the tag champions, Mysterio is on the floor. Juvi and O Haire are in the ring, missile dropkick by Juvi. Juvi tries a springboard but is caught, O Haire and Jindrak toss Juvi into the ring. O Haire nailes his Senton Bomb and Juvi has been eliminated.

Juvi Has Been Eliminated!

Orndorff takes out O Haire and Jindrak, Stamboli uses a kendo stick to hurt Orndorff. Orndorff takes the stick and waffles Stamboli, huge piledriver on Stamboli and Stamboli has been eliminated!

Stamboli Has Been Eliminated!

Jindrak misses a splash, Orndorff hammers O Haire. High knee by Orndorff, Orndorff Piledrivers Jindrak and hurts himslf on the piledriver. O Haire pins Orndorff for the elimination.

Orndorff Has Been Eliminated!

Jindrak eats a double bronco buster as Tygress and Mysterio ride poor Jindrak, referees crowd around Orndorff and this match is called off due to the injuries suffered to Orndorff. That was a disappointing end to what could have been a good match, such a shame and I hope Orndorff was able to recover quickly after the injury.

(Scaffold Match) Kidman & Madusa vs Torrie & Shane Douglas

Torrie is with Douglas, Kidman is back and wants revenge as Torrie left Kidman for The Franchise. Nice to see Madusa cut a passionate promo, also funny seeing Mean Gene calls people pissheads and pricks, this is an awful idea for a match as all we see is kicks and punches as there is little room for improvisation or moves. Madusa and Torrie spend half the match doing fuck all, Kidman sees Torrie but eats a powerslam by Douglas. Douglas is backdropped on the scaffold, Madusa is on the ladder. Sky High by Kidman on the scaffold. Franchiser by Douglas on Kidman, Madusa and Douglas fight on the ladder and Madusa falls safely onto a crash pad. Kidman is thrown off after a low blow from Torrie, Douglas and Torrie win the match. DUD!

Winners: Shane Douglas & Torrie Wilson over Madusa & Kidman via Hurling Them Off The Cage!

Vampiro W/ ICP vs The Great Muta vs Sting

They announce it as a three-way dance but I am not sure if Vampiro and Muta have issues, Sting is attacked by Jarrett backstage before the match. Sting and Vampiro start in the ramp, Muta and Vampiro double team Sting. Sting eats a facebuster on the chair, Vampiro shoves away Muta, a hint of dissension. They brawl into the crowd, chair into the neck by Muta. Sting sends Vampiro into the guard rail, Shaggy hands Vampiro the kendo stick. Vampiro rakes the eyes of Sting, Sting fires up like so many times before. Clotheslines and a Stinger Splash misses from Sting, diving clothesline by Vampiro. Flashing elbow by Muta, Sting eats a kick from Vampiro.

Muta slams Sting, Moonsault by Muta. Vampiro pulls off Muta, the two brawl with Sting grabbing his bat. Sting hammers everyone in the ring with the bat and Sting nails Muta with The Scorpion Death Drop. ICP and Vampiro assault Muta until Sting makes the save with Muta nodding his approval at his old rival. DUD!

Winner: Sting over The Dark Carnival via Scorpion Death Drop!

(Bunkhouse Brawl Match) Mike Awesome W/ Gary Coleman vs Jeff Jarrett

Mike Awesome has gone from killing everyone to lover of fat women to lover of everything seventies, Jarrett is in jeans rady for this type of street fight match. Jarrett taunts The Buffalo Bills, they look fairly drunk and ready for war, Jarrett insults Buffalo and Awesome. Typical heel stuff, they start brawling on the floor. Jarrett is whipped with a kendo stick, Jarrett meets the guard rail. Awesome meets the guard rail and is whipped with the belt, broom to the ribs by Jarrett. Clothesline by Awesome, they swing chairs at one another before Awesome wins the war and punishes Jarrett with the chair. Jarrett is laid on the table, Jarrett springs up and crotches Awesome.

Jarrett back drops Awesome through the table, barbed wire table is in the corner. Jarrett is whipped into the barbed wire twice, sitout powerbomb for two. Jarrett dodges the awesome splash, The Buffalo Bills jump the guard rail. The Bills push Jarrett, Awesome Bomb for two. Jarrett low blows Awesome, Jarrett has his guiatr but here comes Gary Coleman. Low blow by Gary, Jarrett smashes the guitar over Gary Coleman, Sting is here and we see a Scorpion Death Drop and now, Jarrett is beaten.

The blueprint match for Jarrett's TNA run with THE EQUIVALENT OF A NUECLEAR FUCKING BOMB TO take down Jarrett for a pin. Did you see all that horseshit? The Buffalo Bills? Gary Coleman and finally Sting takes down Jarrett. Go fuck yourself Jarrett, that is a crock of shit and you know it!

Winner: Mike Awesome over Jeff Jarrett via Shenanigans!

(No Holds Barred Match) Scott Steiner vs Goldberg

Babyface Goldberg is back! Babyface Goldberg put Midajah through the table with a Jackhammer, Goldberg is the babyface..... This company is so ass backwards it is incredible. Steiner got revenge by attacking Goldberg's girlfriend, Steiner is meant to be booed despite just gaining revenge for what Goldberg did to Midajah. This match has a big fight feel though, the company might be in the toilet but these two men seem like the big stars that the company wants you to believe in, right hands by Steiner but Goldberg nails a shoulder block. Gorilla press into a powerslam by Goldberg, Steiner bails after holding onto the ropes from an Irish whip.

Goldberg tastes the guard rail, clothesline and elbow drop for two. Stomps by Steiner, right hands and an Irish whip, Goldberg boots Steiner in the face. Double underhook suplex by Goldberg, right hands to the damaged face of Steiner. Steiner drops Goldberg with a cutter, belly to belly suplex by Steiner. Goldberg counters a tombstone for a powerslam, two for Goldberg. Steiner dodges the spear, Steiner goes to the top rope and Steiner eats a massive powerslam. Steiner powders, Goldberg is sent crashing into the steel steps. Here is Midajah, she is carrying a lead pipe. Steiner has Goldberg in the tree of woe, chair shots to the ribs by Steiner. Goldberg is bleeding, t-bone suplex by Steiner.

Backbreaker by Steiner for two, Goldberg fires up but Steiner nails a belly to belly overhead suplex. Steiner has the lead pipe, Spear by Goldberg. Goldberg calls for jackhammer, Russo whacks Goldberg with a baseball bat. Steiner gets a two, Steiner throws Goldberg to the floor and sends Goldberg into the guard rail. Goldberg is slammed through the table, Steiner Recliner on Goldberg. Goldberg reaches the ropes, Goldberg powers out and drops Steiner across the mat.

Steiner pushes and shoulder thrusts Goldberg, Goldberg is placed on the top rope. Goldberg knocks down Steiner, Midajah and Russo pummel Goldberg four times with bats, belly to belly suplex by Steiner that almost broke Goldberg's neck. Two for Steiner, Steiner Recliner on Goldberg again. Goldberg shakes off Steiner, Steiner has a chair. Neckbreaker by Goldberg, Russo is caught by Goldberg but Steiner cracks Goldberg with the lead pipe. Third Steiner Recliner and Goldberg is out-cold and Steiner wins the match.

An overbooked mess with complete madness throughout but there were some bright spots in this match. Steiner vs Goldberg looked like a match for the world championship, Goldberg throwing around Steiner was incredible, the crowd were eating up all of Goldberg's offense. Steiner, love him or hate him could put on a compelling match even if his body was broken down, the right opponent could lead to something special with Steiner. A tonne of nonsense though, Goldberg was cracked in the head with bats and lead pipes multiple times but when Steiner does it, it is a knockout? Come on if anyone cracks you with a lead pipe in the head you are done.

Winner: Scott Steiner over Goldberg via TKO!

(WCW World Heavyweight Championship Match) Booker T vs Kevin Nash (C) (Steel Cage Match)

Booker had vanquished Jarrett but the man who was number one contender extended friendship to Booker before destroying the champion. Former friends do battle inside the cage as Nash only cares for the championship while Booker is battling for main event status and recognition. Nash starts strong with knees and a corner clothesline, elbows by Nash. Nash misses an elbow, Booker fires back at Nash before a boot from Nash. Huge clothesline by Nash, two for Nash. Surfboard stretch by Nash, sidewalk slam by the champion for the two.

Nash is sent into the exposed turnbuckle, slam by Booker. Harlem Sidekick by Booker. Scissors Kick and Spinaroonie from Booker, Nash blocks The book-end. Chokeslam by Nash, Nash collapse in pain. Slow cover for two, Nash smacks Booker off the cage. Nash is sent into the exposed turnbuckle, Nash is raked off the cage and Nash is bleeding everywhere. Ten punches by Booker, low blow by Nash. Nash wants the powerbomb, Booker uses the cage to escape, missile dropkick for two. Nash blocks the kick and Booker eats a clothesline, two for Nash. Right hands by Booker, low blow by Nash. Big boot by Nash, Nash calls for a powerbomb. Booker slips out and nails one Book-End and this match is over.

I do not know how to feel about this main event, there was no overbooking, no false finishes, it was a fight plain and simple. Covering these shows, I come to expect lots of annoyance typically in the form of main events but that did not happen here. Booker and Nash got down to business, Nash was bleeding which is a rarity inside of the ring and Nash went for his finish, babyface Booker had a counter and Booker won the match in decisive fashion. I am shocked to see such a clean finish, guess I should not be surprised as there is no Jarrett or Russo in sight. Hats off to Nash and Booker for a simple yet effective cage match, I would have liked more of a struggle and maybe to see a bit more hatred and fire as it is a cage match but it really was enjoyable, a good end to the show.

Winner: Booker T over Kevin Nash via Book-End!

That was WCW's Fall Brawl 2000, a show full of wrestling that was almost unwatchable at times, I was less than impressed with what I had to sit through on this show. From wrestlers who were fresh out of the powerplant to wrestlers having to put on terrible gimmick matches to wrestlers taking everything except the kitchen sink for them to do a job to a wrestler injuring himself in the middle of the ring. This was a shit-show, like the majority of the company's year on pay per view. By this stage, it is hard to get excited about anything the comapny is putting on inside that ring but here I am, still watching and waiting for a moment of hope. Steiner had potential, Booker could have done so much as champion. The mid-card was simply not there though, these gimmick matches were ridiculous, feuds were not being closed out at all. Well, the company is going to continue to struggle on and I will be there waiting at the end to think what could have been. Thanks for reading and remember: There's always another night!

WCW New Blood Rising 2000

Image result for WCW New Blood Rising 2000

Hello and welcome to another edition of Seanomaniac Wrestling Revies, the only wrestling review series on the internet that is more fake than Chris Jericho's feud with Kenny Omega on twitter! It is time for more WCW, I am doing my outmost to finish up WCW before moving onto ECW. It is time for WCW's New Blood Rising 2000 which is built on the rematch between Jeff Jarrett and Booker T plus Kevin Nash, Goldberg and Scott Steiner. The promo package ain't worth going into detail on so do not worry about it folks, it does nothing to add to this show. So, will this be another stinker for WCW? Let's find out!

Three Count W/ Tank Abbott vs The Jung Dragons

Tank Abbott is loving every minute of this, Tank Abbott's push as a killer ended quickly after he nearly killed someone on pay per view by brandishing a knife. I guess The Junge Dragons are babyface now after being heel last month, there is a gold record and recording contract hanging above the ring. So, this is a ladder match that will start like a traditional six-man tag match. Helms and Noble begin, nice wrestling sequence with both men stlaemating until an elbow from Helms. Everyone runs towards the ladders, The Jung Dragons have control. Shannon attacks Yang, Yang wants a powerbomb onto the ladder. Shannon fights out but is backdropped on the ladder, Yang is crotched on the ladder. Helms powerbombs Noble, Shannon splashes Noble. Noble is swung onto a ladder, Kaz is slammed onto Noble as is Yang before Shannon splashes all three members of The Jung Dragons.

Helms is on the ladder, we have stereo springboard clotheslines from both groups, Noble dives onto everyone from atop a ladder. Yang is with Karagias, Shannon is setting up a ladder too, Shannon neckbreakers Yang off the ladder. Helms neckbreakers Noble off the ladder, Karagias superplexes Kaz off the ladder. Noble is squashed behind a ladder, Helms superkicks Yang. Yang and Kaz spinkick down Helms and Shannon, Karagias eats a boot to the face before a powerslam on the ladder to Kaz. Shannon smacks the ladder into Noble's face, Three Count dance while Yang asai moonsaults onto Shannon. Noble and Shannon fight on the top rope, hurricanrana to Shannon. Yang and Kaz double splash onto Shannon.

Noble has the gold record of Three Count, Tank Abbott grabs the contract as Noble falls from the ladder. Karagias is crushed inside a ladder, Noble leg drops Karagias. Helms pushes Kaz off the ladder, Shannon is powerbombed off a ladder by Noble, Helms and Kaz race up the ladder. Tank shoves both ladders down, Karagias begins climbing towards the recording contract, Karagias brings down the recording contract.

The Jung Dragons were fighting in a ladder match to stop Three Count from ever singing again? That's fabulous, I feel these guys suffered from trying to top the early antics of The Hardys, Dudleys and Edge and Christian when it came down to TLC. The ending was flat though, Three Count seemed to win the match out of nothing. There were some nice spots though, they worked hard even if the ending did not reflect their hard work. One of the better opening matches from WCW in this year.

Winners: Three Count over The Jung Dragons via Retrieval of The Contract!

Ernest Miller vs The Great Muta

What a dream match said nobody ever, The Cat mauls Muta who was in a rough point in his career, Muta's hair was falling out while his home promotion of NJPW was changing with shoot fighters being favoured over actual wrestlers. Flashing elbow by Muta and a sweet armbar, The Cat reaches the ropes. Stomps by Muta, The Cat fights back before Muta takes control. Tygress of The Filthy Animals is back at ringside, Muta misses his handspring elbow. Muta is kicked to the floor, The Cat chokes the life out of Muta. Two for Cat in the ring, throat thrust by Cat and an uppercut.

Dragon screw legwhip by Luta, heel hook from Muta. The Cat reaches the ropes, backbreaker and the moonsault misses. Muta mist in The Cat's eyes, Tygress smacks Muta with the chair for two. Kicks by The Cat, The Feliner by The Cat and The Cat wins the match.

The Cat beat The Great Muta, I will never ever been able to live that down. The Cat beat Muta in the middle of the ring, a great showing of anything can happen in wrestling. Yeah, it was pretty piss poor, Muta looked like he had no desire to be in WCW at that point in his career, it was not going to be like 1989 all over again.

Winner: The Cat over The Great Muta via The Feliner!

(Judy Bagwell On A Forklift Match) Kanyon vs Buff Bagwell

What a joke this match this will be, this is Kanyon kidnapping Bagwell's mother and placing her on top of a forklift. The idea being that Kanyon wants to find his Kimberly, I would have suggested using one of the women that the company has in order to get them some experience but nah, we have this garbage. Bagwell beats the piss out of Kanyon with right hands, back drops and brawling through the crowd. Kanyon low blows Bagwell, middle rope Russian legsweep by Kanyon.

Suplex by Kanyon, Kanyon pulls out wirecutters to expose the top turnbuckle. Foot choke by Kanyon, sitout Alabama Slam by Kanyon for two. Bagwell fires up on Kanyon, cobra clutch by Kanyon. Bagwell escapes but eats a neckbreaker for two, Bagwell blocks the kanyon cutter, Bagwell drops Kanyon on the exposed turnbuckle for two. Bagwell pounds on Kanyon, Kanyon nails The Kanyon Cutter for a close two. DDP's music hits and the crowd goes nuts before David Arquette appears, great tease there. Bagwell kicks the crap out of Kanyon, Arquette cracks Bagwell with a hardhat. Kanyon only gets two, Kanyon and Arquette are clotheslined by Bagwell. Double Blockbuster and Kanyon is defeated.

As ridiculous as the concept of the match is, I did enjoy this match. Kanyon's facials and moveset makes matches fun while The David Arquette reveal was tremendous. Kanyon sold it as oh shit I am going to die plus everyone hated Arquette for winning the championship.

Winner: Buff Bagwell over Kanyon via Blockbuster!

(Four Corners Elimination Match For The WCW Tag Team Championship Match) Kronik vs MIA vs The Perfect Event vs Sean O Haire & Mark Jindrak

The Filthy Animals are keeping the peace as special referees, they also stole the tag team championships from Kronik. Holy Hell we have a weak tag team division in the comapny at this point, Kronik have no real competition when half the particpants are a combined wrestling age of about 5. Adams and Palumbo begin, lock-up wiht Adams shoving down Palumbo. Lock-up, waistlock by Palumbo who smacks around Adams. Adams throws Palumbo to the floor, The Filthy Animals beat up Palumbo. Stasiak walks into a full-nelson slam, Cpl. Cajun is in with Jindrak. Headscissors by Cajun, Clark is in the ring. Jindrak eats a shoulder block from Clark, Palumbo superkicks Clark.

Right hands by O Haire, huge spinning kick by O Haire for two. Powerslam by Clark for two, Rection nails a huge spinning kick on O Haire for two. Chops by both men, sitout powerbomb by O Haire, The Perfect Event choke the life out of Rection. Bronco Buster by Tygress, Mysterio is stopped from the bronco buster. Tag to Rection, clotheslines to all the heels until O Haire decks Rection. The referees keep the babyfaces at bay, Palumbo talks trash to Disco. Sleeper by Palumbo, O Haire smacks Rection as he bounces off the ropes, superkick by Palumbo.

Elbow by Stasiak, corner splash by Rection. Tag to Cajun, Cajun is clotheslined to the floor, O Haire and Jindrak double team Clark. Senton Bomb by O Haire, Jindrak DDTs Rection. Cajun DDTs Jindrak, Palumbo slams Cajun. High Tide for Palumbo but no, here is The Dark Carnival. Palumbo is smacked by Clark, Meltdown by Clark. Disco does not count, Stasiak is on the top rope and walks into a military press, Adams throws Stasiak on O Haire and Jindrak. High Tide on Palumbo, Loco counts the pin-fall for Kronik to win.

Messy and sloppy, being fair though there was a lot of new talent in that ring and they were hardly tag team wrestlers. They did an ok job, Kronik seems miles ahead of everyone as these teams are so new and are not established in the slightest. Bad times ahead for Kronik I assume, maybe something will come along and lessen my concerns.

Winners: Kronik Over Everyone Else via High Tide!

(Leather Strap Match) Shane Douglas W/ Torrie Wilson vs Billy Kidman

Having realized that making Billy Kidman a heel was an absolute joke, Kidman is back from getting his head kicked in by Hogan to fight The Franchise because he stole Torrie from him. Kidman ties up Douglas in the strap, Douglas has to regroup. Kidman drags down Douglas and nails a leg drop. Kidman keeps his eyes on Torrie, clothesline by Kidman. Dougals is whipped into the saftey rail, Douglas is pulled into the ringpost. Kidman chokes the life out of Douglas, Kidman whips the life out of Douglas. Bulldog by Kidman for two, Torrie is on the apron and she smacks Douglas with the heel by mistake. Douglas hotshots Kidman, two for Douglas. Kidman counters the pittsburgh plunge for a small package, Torrie rolls over Kidman which leads to a Pittsburgh Plunge for two. Unprettier by Kidman for the win. Torrie has a chair and Torrie gets caught by Kidman. Torrie whipped before Douglas saves the day.

Meh, it was alright. Both men can put on a great match but this was not their night. Poor Torrie looks like a deer in the headlights anytime she has to do anything in the ring. Douglas is clicking with me as a character though, the ring work may not be what was prophesized by many if he had his chance on the big stage but Douglas continues to deliver as a character.

Winner: Kidman over Shane Douglas via Unprettier!

Jarrett Attacks!

Jeff Jarrett attacks Booker as he enters the arena, Jarrett focuses on the leg and cripples the leg of Booker.

(Mud Wrestling Match) Major Gunns vs Ms. Hancock

Handspring elbow by Hancock after slaps from Gunns, kicks in the corner from Gunns. Snapmare and neckbreaker by Gunns, jacknife cover by Gunns for two. Clothesline by Hancock, Gunns' top is torn off by Hancock. Knee by Hancock, Gunns drops Hancock with a facebuster. Hancock loses her pants, two for Gunns. Slam by Gunns for two, eye rake by Hancock who dances on the middle turnbuckle. Crossbody for two, Hancock kips-up. Gunns boots Hancock in the ribs, sunset flip by Gunns for two. Hancock misses a crossbody, Hancock sells her stomach.

Axe handle by Gunns, Gunns is sent into the ringpost. Gunns loses her pants, shoing off her great ass which leads to Hancock being stripped. They are by the mud pit, Gunns is backdropped into the mud. Hancock laughs, until she is dragged into the mud. Lots of pushing and nonsense before Hancock is pinned missionary style and an ambulance is called for Ms. Hancock who is pregnant.

Far be it from me to try to help this company when it was in the shitter but a preganancy angle again from Russo? Really? Am I supposed to believe that someone that fucking thin is pregnant? Are you fucking joking me? This is ridiculous! Also, you already did the wedding angle why not continue the feud with Crowbar and Daffney vs Hancock and Flair? Fuck this shit anyways DUD!

Winner: Major Gunns over Ms. Hancock via Pin-fall!

The Demon vs Sting

The Demon joined Vampiro's side after Vampiro brainwashed him through a beating at the last pay per view, Sting is back and wants blood. Sting meets The Demon on the ramp, The Demon eats punches and kicks. The Demon is on the guard rail, Stinger Splash and a nice Scorpion Death Drop, this match is over. Muta and Vampiro attack Sting, Kronik save Sting and we have a tag team match for later tonight.

Winner: Sting over The Demon via Scorpion Death Drop!

(WCW United States Championship Match) Mike Awesome vs Lance Storm (C)

Storm jumped ship from ECW after it was apparent that Heyman could not pay Storm, Storm put over new champion Justin Credible before leaving and winning three championships within a month of being in the company. Storm defends against Awesome, Storm brings a special referee who is Jacque Rougeau which is a terrible reveal for one simple reason: The people all wanted Bret Hart and if you are in Canada and going to suck up to everyone in the building, go all-out with Storm bringing out Bret Hart.

Shoulder block and front slam by Awesome, right hands by Awesome. Corner clothesline, leg drop by Awesome for two. Jawbreaker by Storm, superkick and Awesome is sent into the ringpost. Chops by Storm, Awesome clotheslines Storm to the floor. Awesome pulls out a table, Storm sends Awesome into the guard rail. Sitout Powerbomb for two, Rougeau enforces the rules which is fair enough because it looks like Storm did kick out of the powerbomb. Eye poke by Storm, Storm eats an Alabama Slam. Awesome applies a dragon sleeper which leads to Storm tapping.

Rougeau goes to Canadian Rules once more, you cannot win by submission in a championship match. German suplex by Awesome, Storm sends Awesome to the apron. Slingshot shoulder block for three, you need a five-count to win. Awesome Splash with Awesome pinning Storm in the middle of the ring, Rougeau says hold on one second, we are not doing this this way. Storm has to answer the count of ten because you need to stand after a count of ten after being pinned by a five-count.

Awesome is pissed now, the table is now in the ring. Low blow bv Storm, chair shot to the head by Storm. Four count off the chair shot, Awesome is on the table. Awesome belly to belly throws Storm through the table, Rougeau says the first man to stand at ten will win the championship. Rougeau decks Awesome and Storm wins the match. Hold on a motherfucking minute, Bret Hart is here for this match. Bret celebrates withe two, that made me mark out I will not lie.

There is a way to pull off this match, William Regal and Chris Jericho pulled it off at Backlash 2001. Storm should not have been beaten so decisively by Awesome but rather have Storm be disqualified, tapouts not being legal etc. Storm should not hvae been pinned twice, I thought that was poor booking and you also have the killing of Storm's momentum. I thought it was a bad idea, it did drag on for far too long too.

Winner: Lance Storm over Mike Awesome via Beating The Count!

(WCW Tag Team Championship Match) Kronik (C) vs The Dark Carnival

Adams throws Vampiro to the floor to begin, Clark and Vampiro reset the match. Spinning sole butt by Vampiro, right hands to Clark. Shoulder block by Clark for two, eye rake by Vampiro but Clark nails a short powerbomb for two. Tag to Adams, double shoulder block on Vampiro. Muta nails Adams from the apron, kicks and chops by Vampiro. In comes Muta, Muta tries a handspring elbow but Adams counters for a full-nelson slam. Tag to Clark, stomps in the corner and chops by Clark. Muta ducks a clothesline and goes low with a dropkick, tag to Vampiro. Vampiro runs into a powerslam, Adams tags in and chops Vampiro. Big boot by Adams, Vampiro is on the outside.

Vampiro counters a powwerbomb for a facebuster, spin kicks by Vampiro. Tag to Muta, wishbone-split, Muta works over Adams' legs. Vampiro tags in and works the legs of Adams. Muta elbows Adams as Clark is restrained by the referee. Adams and Vampiro bang heads, Clark receives the hot-tag and mows down everything. Meltdown to Vampiro, spinning sole butt by Muta. Muta mists the referee, back suplex by Clark. Kronik call for High Tide, Vampiro saves Muta but here comes The Harris Brothers. They maul Kronik, H-Bomb by The Harris Brothers, Moonsault by Muta and we have new champions!

Yeah, the crowd seemed dead after the canadian match with Bret Hart, there is nothing that these could do to get a rise out of this crowd. Interesting to see where Sting and Vampiro go from here, is Sting back and that is the end of it because I mean The Dark Carnival has the tag team championships. Will Sting be going after the gold? Anyways, this match was trash.

Winners: The Dark Carnival over Kronik via Moonsault!

Scott Steiner vs Kevin Nash vs Goldberg (Winner Is The Number One Contender)

Talk about insider terms, this crap takes the cake. Nash says constantly in every promo for this match that he is going over, there is no Goldberg as he was injured in a motorcycle accident. Nash and Steiner brawl, big boot by Nash. Nash drops Steiner on the guard rail, here comes Goldberg with a chair. Nash is wiped out, clothesline and theatrical elbow by Steiner for two. Goldberg, the heel is all taped up, exploder suplex by Steiner for two. Shoulder block by Goldberg, superkick by Goldberg. Nash is in the ring behind Goldberg, right hands by Nash. Stomps by Goldberg, Nash goes to the ribs of Goldberg. Knees before Steiner throws around Nash for two, clothesline and elbow drop on Nash for two.

Goldberg throws Steiner with a double underhook suplex, double knockdown by Goldberg and Steiner. Nash clothesline both men, sidewalk slam by Nash. Big boot by Nash, Nash pulls down the straps Goldberg pushes off Nash and walks out on the match. Goldberg leaves the arena with Russo getting in Goldberg's face. Goldberg tells Russo to go fuck himself, what a lovely exchange. Steiner clubs Nash with a chair, the commentators tell everyone that Goldberg was meant to take the Jacknife and that Goldberg is a big mark for himself who did not want to do business. This is mental, Steiner back suplexes Nash for two, backbreaker by Steiner for two. Nash boots Steiner in the face, Midajah is on her way to the ringside area. Snak eyes by Nash, Midajah low blows Nash as Steiner shoves down the referee.

Nash low blows Steiner, Midajah elbows Nash in the balls. Steiner covers for two, DDT by Nash. Midajah saves Steiner, Nash is on his feet. Steiner jumps on Nash's back, Nash shakes off Steiner. Huge boot, Jacknife Poewerbomb and this match is over, Nash is your number one contender.

Wow, what do you even say about a match where they are telling you wrestling is fake and scripted? They flat out say that Goldberg did not go up for the finish, Steiner is more of man for taking the powerbomb, Goldberg will not do the JOB? My brain hurts and Goldberg is called a crybaby by Scott Hudson, what is exactly going on? It is comical.

Winner: Kevin Nash over Scott Steiner via Jacknife Powerbomb!

(WCW World Heavyweight Championship Match) Booker T (C) vs Jeff Jarrett

Booker is the people's champion, The Rock did not orginate the phrase but is is pretty petty when you are another wrestler who looks like him, dresses like him and using nicknames that are also his, poor WCW. Russo always had something about Jeff Jarrett, that's why the man rose to the top of WCW because there hasn't been a performance from Double J worthy of a world champion. Things would be more frustrating under Jarrett in TNA but let's focus on this dying company. Jarrett has been centre stage for the worst year for this company but soon, it shall be over with Jarrett out of the main event picture I promise you. In a nice touch, Booker limps to the ring and wears a knee brace, WCW are doing a great job to show that Booker is in a bad way.

Booker enters the ring and Jarrett goes for the leg, Booker fires up with eright hands. Roll-up for two, spinning heel kick with the bad leg, powerbomb by Booker for two. Superkick and clothesline to the floor, Jarrett tastes the barricade twice. Chops for Jarrett, Jarrett is brought groin first into the ringpost. Make it twice, Booker is on the top rope. Jarrett dodges the missile dropkick, Booker holds the leg. Jarrett stomps the leg, Booker's leg is wrapped around the ringpost multiple times. Jarrett uses the chair to further damage the leg of Booker, Booker is manhandled onto the guard rail leg first. Boston crab by Jarrett, Booker makes it to the ropes. More chair shots to the leg, sunset flip out of the corner by Booker for two. Double clothesline with both men down, right hands by Booker who nails a spinebuster for two.

Scissors Kick and a Spinaroonie, Booker takes out the referee. Jarrett blasts Booker's leg with the guitar, Figure Four leglock by Jarrett. Booker sits in the hold for what seems like a century, Booker reaches the ropes. Jarrett has the championship, the referee is nailed with the championship. There is a table ringside, Book-End through the table. Jarrett has a chair, low blow by Jarrett. Another referee bump, Stroke using the chair by Jarrett. 1....2..... Booker kicks out! Diamond Cutter on the chair by Booker, Jarrett jumps into a book'end, Jarrett fights out only to eat another Book-End and Booker wins the match.

It was solid but could have been something more, WCW always seems to tease me in a sick sort of way with a potentially great main event only to crumble as the match went on, it is so frustrating. So, we have a great backstory with Jarrett attacking the leg, Jarrett works the leg and you have a tease with the figure four being locked in for what seems like forever. And then.... nothing. It dives into the old formula of referee bumps and weapon shots after weapon shots. They could have worked in the leg to the finish, there is no struggle though. Booker just nails Jarrett with The Book End.

Winner: Booker T over Jeff Jarrett via Book-End!

That was WCW's New Blood Rising 2000, a show that was your typical mixed bag from the company that seemed to always making the wrong moves. So many insider terms which drive me nuts, that Goldberg angle where they flat out say Goldberg was not following the script. Come on, it is just ridiculous and you are taking the piss, how could you say that to any wrestling fan? How could you be happy with a product like this? More and more it seems like WWF-Lite, Nash is your babyface challneger for Booker. Looks like Nash will return, who is on the babyface side that can help Booker? Sting is not going after Vampiro following his burning ? Goldberg is a babyface for telling Russo he did not want to follow his script? I have no clue, it is confusing. This company is taking its toll and we will see where we go from here, thanks for reading and remember: There's always another night!

You know better than I about what will be the most talked about moment on this show but let's check this card. Let's see how wrong this show can go shall we? Bring it on!

(WCW Cruiserweight Championship Match) Lt. Loco (C) vs Juventud Guerrera

Juvi brings down the championship to ringside but Loco is announced as champion. Neither man had been doing much prior to the creation of these two groups, Loco was on the fringes while Juvi was out injured. Some fast paced action with inverted atomic drops and atomic drops with Loco clotheslining Juvi to the floor. Loco mocks Juvi walking away from the ring, this seems like a tv commercial break. Juvi suckers in Loco with kicks, Loco suplexes Juvi to the floor. Springboard splash from Loco, Juvi begs for mercy. Loco is suckered in again, ten punches from Juvi. Loco fires back with huge clotheslines and a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker for two. Eye poke by Juvi, Loco counters with a headscissors out of the corner and a powerslam for two.

Chops by Loco, Loco spanks Juvi. Huge double knockdown, Loco sends Juvi to the floor. Loco up high with a huge dive to the floor, here comes The Filthy Animals in masks. Roll-up by Juvi for two, slingshot leg drop from Juvi which looks like it sucked for Loco. Right hands by Juvi, stomps by Juvi. Slam and Juvi nails a springboard splash for two. Loco catches Juvi on the top rope, Loco gets caught in a Liger Bomb for two. Front suplex by Juvi, Juvi goes for The Juice's Elbow. Juvi connects for two, here comes MIA in masks. Major Gunn comes down the ramp, Juvi is distracted which leads to a reverse suplex by Loco for two. Juvi Driver on Loco, cover and Loco places his foot on the ropes. Tornado DDT out of nowhere from Loco and Loco is still your champion.

That was a fun opening match, they tried to pack a hell of a lot into it and it was a bit much by the end but enjoyable all the same. Looking at these two, it is mad to think they could have been big stars in this division in 1998 with the pushes they were receiving but almost two years later, both were in comedy groups for the latter lifespan for the company.

Winner: Lt. Loco over Juventud Guerrera via Tornado DDT!

The Cat With Jarrett & The Filthy Animals

Commissioner Cat explains to Jarrett that Hogan is still not here at the building while The Cat hands The Jung Dragons their asses.

(WCW Hardcore Championship Match) Big Vito (C) vs Ralphus & Norman Smiley

Vito had become champion which led to the end of the team of Vito and Stamboli, Vito cared more for the championship than the team so they went their separate ways. Smiley returns to pay per view to whoop ass, a lot of trash can shots follow for Vito. Smiley Big Wiggles on Vito, Vito is whipped into a forklift. Ralphus deals out the punishment on Vito, Vito fights back whipping Smiley into bins and a truck. Trash can lid to the head by Vito, Vito rams Smiley into the elevator which closes.

Vito chases Ralphus, Ralphus runs for his life. Vito stomps the shit out of Ralphus, Vito uses a baseball bat to smash Ralphus' little pecker. Vito has a table, Ralphus rolls around in pain. Vito lays Ralphus on the table, Vito drops a huge splash through the table on Ralphus and the camera cuts to Smiley walking down to the ring with no speed or determination. Vito wins the match as Smiley looks on foolishly.

Yeah, that was garbage and not the good kind. Smiley's comedy did not mesh with Vito's serious style of wrestling. You think it would as they are so different but it did not happen, this was a mess and I wish I did not have to sit through that match.

Winner: Vito over Smiley & Ralphus via Splash!

(Wedding Gown Match) Ms. Hancock vs Daffney

Ms. Hancock stole David Flair away from Daffney, Daffney was very entertaining with Flair and Crowbar, shame that it seems like this could be the end of all that fun. Schiavone tries to make this match serious, they are ripping one another's clothes off. David Flair is kissing every inch of Ms. Hancock, Daffney comes to the ring dressed in black. Low blow to Flaior, Daffney slams Hancock to the mat. Flair interferes and helps Hancock, handspring elbow and ass tease from Hancock. Daffney springs up with snapmares, Hancock tries shoving Daffney into the cake at ringside. Flair interferes again, slaps for the men. Low blows for the men and the referee has been stripped to his underwear as is Flair. Hancock is slammed into Flair's balls.

Flair has clippers for Daffney's hair, Crowbar is here and slams Flair. Crowbar decides to strip, this is so surreal. Front sitout suplex by Crowbar, Flair is choked with Crowbar's pants. Daffney wants to cut Flair's hair, Hancock's music plays and Hancock loses as she removed her own gown. Daffney smacks Hancock with the cake and we finally end this nightmare.

What a load of garbage, WCW used to be considered the alternative, the wrestling show compared to WWF but this was what Russo brings to the table. Mindless T&A, not even enough to make me crack a smile, she removed her own gown and nowhere was it implied that Hancock stripped to save David Flair. Just skip this!

Winner: Daffney over Ms. Hancock via Removal Of Gown!

(WCW Tag Team Championship Match) The Perfect Event (C) vs Kronik

Kronik should be Vince's wet dream as we have Kronik, Bryan Adams and Bryan Clark battling two wrestlers who are imitating Curt Hennig and Lex Luger. Adams and Palumbo begin, lock-up and a side headlock by Palumbo. Adams hurls Palumbo to the floor, military press slam by Adams on Stasiak. Stasiak lands on Palumbo, the champions think of walking out of the match. It comes Clark and Stasiak, lock-up with Stasiak pushing Clark into the corner. Right hands by Stasiak, Clark gets control with chops. Uranage slam by Clark, double shoulder block by Kronik. Tag to Adams, big boot to Stasiak. Tag to Palumbo who gets caught in a full-nelson slam for two.

Headbutt by Adams, Palumbo low bridges Adams. The champions put the boots to Adams, Clark is arguing with the referee. Two for Stasiak, right hands by Stasiak. Tag to Palumbo, huge diving shoulder block for two. Right hands by Palumbo, sleeper on Adams. Adams eats a knee after escaping the sleeper, Stasiak comes in with a huge spinning elbow. Sleeper by Stasiak, Adams survives the sleeper and both men bang heads. Clark gets the hot-tag, clotheslines to both men. Stasiak is clotheslined to the floor, Clark almost nails the meltdown but Palumbo nails a DDT. Stasiak clotheslines and dropkicks both men, this is like a hot-tag what is going on?

Stasiak gets a two count in the ring, the champions hammer Clark. Clark eats a clothesline from the champions, double flapjack with Adams saving the match. Palumbo is tossed to the floor, F-5 on Stasiak. Palumbo is knocked off the apron, double big boot to Stasiak. High-Tide to Stasiak, Palumbo saves the match. High-Tide to Palumbo, Stasiak re-enters and eats a powerbomb/clothesline combination. Kronik are your new tag team champions!

This was on its way to a decent little match with Kronik squashing the cheating dickheads that were The Perfect Event until the hot-tag to Clark. What should have been a straight-forward ass-kicking from Kronik, we had a hot-tag for Stasiak where he kicked Kronik's ass by himself. After that we have way too many false-finishes followed by Stasiak no-selling High-Tide just to eat a powerbomb from Kronik. Way to make your finish look like trash, a few botches and weird decisions drag this match down to an appropriate level for WCW at the time.

Winners: Kronik over The Perfect Event via Powerbomb/Clothesline Combination!

Booker T vs Kanyon

Kanyon turned on DDP, turning into Positively Kanyon. A mocking gimmick of DDP's self help book which was released at the time. Booker is looking to beat up Kanyon, spinning heel kick from Booker. Kanyon powders, Booker continues to make a fool of Kanyon, ripping off Kanyon's wig and DDP t-shirt. Booker also takes out a brick Kanyon was hiding in DDP's book, that did make me laugh. Diving clothesline from Booker for two, Kanyon gains control on the outside. Kanyon whips Booker into the guard rail before smacking a steel chair over the steel steps which was on Booker's arm. Kanyon basbeall slides Booker out of the ring, apron suplex into the ring by Kanyon for two. Kanyon has a chair, Kanyon wedges it into the middle turnbuckle. Booker fires up with rights, Kanyon boots Booker but eats a powerslam for two.

Kanyon nails an Alabama Slam for two, reverse Boston crab from Kanyon. Booker kicks out for two but Booker explodes with a huge forearm. Kanyon is whipped into the chafir, spinebuster by Booker for two. Booker has the chair, the referee pulls away the chair. Kanyon hits Booker with the book, Kanyon doesnt realize the brick is not in the book. Booker kips-up, Harlem Sidekick and a huge Scissors Kick. Book-End for two, Jeff Jarrett waffles Booker with a guitar to the head. Middle Rope Kanyon Cutter for the win.

Well, I am glad they were able to make Booker facing Jarrett later in the night make sense with that finish. The action was good, Kanyon's facials for seeing the book was gone was great. Kanyon sold really well for Booker, a bit shocked that Kanyon survived all of Booker's best offense and that Booker was still relying on a missile dropkick as a finish. Anyways, this was the best match on the card so far, it was clean, crisp and delivered whereas the same could not be said for the rest of the card.

Winner: Kanyon over Booker T via Kanyon Cutter!

(WCW United States Championship Match) Scott Steiner (C) vs Mike Awesome

Talk about a WCW screw up, Steiner is super over as a heel but there are no plans to make Steiner a top babyface while Awesome's gimmick is he loves fat women when Awesome should be a top heel tearing through your roster. Match starts hot with Stiner attacking Awesome, Awesome sends Steiner into the crowd. Awesome dives into the crowd, they brawl in the crowd among the people. Clothesline and theatrical elbow from Steiner, stomps in the corner from the champion. Boot by Awesome, Awesome is too slow on the top rope. Steiner belly to belly suplexes Awesome for two. Ten punchres by Steiner, ribbreaker by Steiner. Awesome drops Steiner front suplex style across the top rope. Apron elbow drop by Awesome, Awesome attacks Steiner with a chair.

Awesome smacks Steiner with the ringbell, Awesome has a chair. Steiner is sent crashing back first into the guard rail multiple times, Steiner eats a slingshot splash for two. Awesome is up top, diving clothesline for two. The Cat is here, Steiner suplexes Awesome. Belly to belly suplex by Steiner, The Cat is on the apron. Awesome low blows Steiner, Alabama Slam with a jacknife cover for two. Awesome nails an Awesome Splash for two, Steiner backs Awesome into the corner, the referee is decked by accident. The Cat is in the ring, The Cat nails Awesome by mistake and The Cat eats a belly to belly for his trouble. Steiner applies The Steiner Recliner and Steiner is stripped of his championship.

I guess we are going for Steiner as a babyface, that is a nice surprise. The match was not that good, it was slow in parts with a lot of laying down and waiting for things to happen. The Cat came off as a babyface earlier in the night when attacked by The Jung Dragons and having problems with Jeff Jarrett. However, I have no clue as to who is the babyface and who is the heel in this company. That is a never good sign.

Winner: Mike Awesome over Scott Steiner via DQ!

(Graveyard Match) Vampiro vs The Demon

Vampiro's next feud after Sting is The Demon, more of a demotion that anything else if you ask me, The Demon came about as a result of WCW's dealings with Kiss. You win this match by returning to ringside, The Demon brings his fiancee to the graveyard. Not exactly a good idea, Vampiro jumps out of a tree and gets clobbered. The Demon is put in a grave, The Demon gives chase after the two. Vampiro rises from the water like Freddy in the first Friday the 13th movie. They flop around in the water, The Demon's makeup is still on somehow. Vampiro steals Asya again, The Demon is really a bad protetctor. The referee drags The Demon out of the water, you were saved by the referee are you joking me ??

Asya is knocked out by the coffin, Vamiro splits blood in The Demon's eyes. Vampiro cracks The Demon with a tombstone. The Demon is dragged into the coffin, Vampiro throws The Demon into the open grave. Vampiro throws a flame onto the grave, Vampiro walks away and that is the end of that I suppose.

What a crock of shit, WCW is testing my patience. The rules were they had to return to the ring but it never happened, we did not even get close to that happening. It was dimly lit, you could barely see anything happen and I walked The Demon groggily stumble around a graveyard. DUD!

Winner: Vampiro over The Demon via Escape?

Buff Bagwell vs Shane Douglas

These two were tag team champions, Douglas turned on Bagweel which leads to this match here tonight. Bagwell begins by posing on the turnbuckle, getting a Franchise sucks chant around the arena. More unpolite phrases are exchanged before right hands by Bagwell. Dropkick floors Douglas, Douglas meest the guard rail multiple times. Bagwell rakes at the eyes of Douglas, low blow by Douglas. Bagwell is dropped on the guard rail, Douglas rips up the protective mats. Bagwell backdrops Douglas on the concrete, swinging neckbreaker by Bagwell with Douglas regrouping on the floor. Douglas pulls out Bagwell, rights and lefts exchanged on the floor before Bagwell is introduced to the ringpost groin first.

Douglas punches a chair into Bagwell's face, snapmare into a snapover neckbreaker by Douglas. Neck crank by Douglas, Torrie Wilson is here at ringside. Douglas is slapped by Torrie, roll-up by Bagwell for two. Back elbow and clotheslines by Bagwell for two, Torrie is on the apron. Slingshot splash by Bagwell for two, Bagwell wants Torrie. Low blow by Torrie, Pittsburgh Plunge for the two. Bagwell nails a double DDT for a close two, Bagwell calls for The Blockbuster. Bagwell has Torrie, Douglas saves Torrie with a sitout jawbreaker and Torrie celebrates with Douglas.

Oh WCW you are so clever with your swerves as we have Torrie slapping Douglas only to side with Douglas at the end of the match. Oh Mr. Russo you are so wise, what a crock of shit. Props to Bagwell for selling one of the worst finishers I have ever seen in the history of wrestling. You could have heard a pin drop in the middle of that ring, that move was awful. Both men in that ring were nothing to write home about either, it is just a terrible show all around.

Winner: Shane Douglas over Buff Bagwell via Revenge Of The Swerve!

(WCW World Heavyweight Championship Match) Jeff Jarrett (C) vs Hulk Hogan

Following surviving the trilogy of matches that I have entitled The DDP Is A Moron Series, we have Jeff Jarrett defending against Hulk Hogan. The same Hulk Hogan that brought WCW its greatest success and its darkest hours. Russo cuts a promo, Hogan cuts a promo. Jarrett slowly walks down to the ring, lays down in the middle of the ring and Russo says pin Jarrett. Jarrett looks disgusted, Russo looks disgusted and Hogan calls bullshit in the middle of the ring. Hogan storms off and that's all folks. I will get into this later in the night.

Vampiro And The Coffin

Vampiro makes it to the arena and in comes Sting mask wearing people with a coffin. Vampiro is freaked out, lots of fake Stings and baseball bats. Vampiro is laid to rest in a coffin with Stings poitning bats at the fallen Vampiro.

Russo Returns!

Vinnie Russo is on the microphone, looking pissed off at the turn of events. Russo proceeds to shoot on Hogan, Russo looks as passionate and as animated as I had ever seen in one individual. Russo makes an announcement proclaiming that Jeff Jarrett is still your champion. Russo announces that Jarrett will face none other than Booker T for the world championship. That was intense and passionate, I will give them that it was powerful.

Goldberg vs Kevin Nash (Scott Hall's Career On The Line)

Goldberg was turned heel on his return, great business decision by WCW. Goldberg has Scott Hall's contract, Nash is fighting for his buddy. Nash asks for help from Steiner which is a little strange, we get a long shot of Nash walking from the back to the arena. A rematch from Starrcade and Slamboree, the series is tied at 1:1. This is the rubber match between Nash and Goldberg, Goldberg unloads on Nash. Nash comes back with knees, huge elbow rocks Goldberg's world. Goldberg sweeps Nash, huge front suplex for two. Goldberg superkicks Nash down, chokeslam by Nash for two. Here comes Steiner, Goldberg chokes Nash. Goldberg stomps Nash, Goldberg talk shit with Steiner.

Nash boots Goldberg, sidewalk slam by Nash for two. Goldberg misses a spear, Goldberg hits the corner hard. Nash pulls down the straps, Nash wants the jacknife and here comes Steiner with clotheslines. Nash boots Steiner, Spear by Goldberg. Jackhammer by Goldberg and Scott Hall will never be seen in WCW ever again.

Well, I earlier in this review said they should turn Steiner babyface but he was a babyface and now later in the night, Steiner is a heel. WCW have outdone themselves by turning Steiner heel when he was one of the hottest acts in the company. On a touching note, this was the end of The Outsiders, four years after the very pay per view where they formed The NWO and began dominating the company. I wish I could say WCW had the foresight to have this touching moment at the pay per view but I will put it down to luck.

Winner: Goldberg over Kevin Nash via Jackhammer!

(WCW World Heavyweight Championship Match) Jeff Jarrett (C) vs Booker T

Buffer calls it an amazing night, the commentators look bored out of their minds. So, Booker is the new number one contender, Booker was over with the WCW crowd despite dubious booking and a bizarre 2000 which saw him lose the rights to Harlem Heat and wrestle as GI Bro. In my eyes, Booker should not have been anywhere near that championship with the way he was booked but there are rumours that WCW were in a lawsuit over the treatment of the likes of Sonny Onoo etc which leads to a rumour that Booker was made champion as he was black and it would reflect positvely on the company.

Lock-up, side headlock by Jarrett. Booker escapes, Booker continues to outwrestle Jarrett. Waistlock by Jarrett, side headlock by Booker. Top wristlock by Jarrett, shoulder block by Jarrett which leads to a dropkick by Booker. Right hand by Jarrett, multiple rights by Jarrett. Harlem sidekick by Booker, Jarrett is knocked to the floor. Axe handle by Booker and Jarrett is tossed into the crowd, Booker is piledriven through the announce table. Booker takes over somehow, Jarrett applies the sleeper. Booker refuses to give up, elbows by Booker. Boot by Jarrett in the corner, sleeper is back on from Jarrett. Booker locks in his own sleeper but Jarrett counters with a shin breaker. Jarrett calls for the figure four, Booker has an inside cradle for two.

Jarrett applies The Figure Four, Booker sits struggling in the hold. Booker manages to reverse the hold, Jarrett works the leg. Booker fights back, Scissors Kick and a Spinaroonie. Spinebuster for two, Booker crotches himself off the Harlem sidekick. Ten punches by Jarrett, Jarrett whips Booker into the referee. Booker has the championship, Jarrett is waffled with the championship but Jarrett kicks out again! Low blow by Jarrett, Jarrett has the chair. Jarrett wedges the chair into the turnbuckle, Jarrett is sent into the chair for two. Right hand by Jarrett, Jarrett Strokes the referee, low blow to Booker.

Jarrett grabs his trusty guitar, Jarrett climbs to the top rope but Booker counters Jarrett with a Book-End. Booker pins Jarrett off the Super Book-End, a new referee comes down to the ring and counts the pin, could it be a new era in WCW?

Good match, they went right to work and pulled out all the stops to entertain the fans and send them home happy after the fiasco with Hogan. Althought I do not agree that Booker appeared anywhere close to a champion in the months leading to this moment, it is hard to criticize someone who was constantly entertaining when the spotlight was on him and you can see that the it meant the world to Booker to hold that championship.

Winner: Booker T over Jeff Jarrett via Book-End!

A happy ending to a terrible showing from WCW, that was WCW's Bash At The Beach 2000! You have the drama of Hogan vs Russo, a simple story that becomes complicated depending on who's side you believe, some say it was all a work until Russo shit all over Hogan which led to the lawsuit and so on and so forth. Regardless, this show was the same as every other WCW show from 2000. There was little done right, Kronik were on their way as a big dominant tag team and they were doing the right thing with Scott Steiner. However, an hour later they fucked that up by turning Steiner heel, Goldberg should have never been heel in the first place and the depth of the roster is at an all-time low, they are swerves, kayfabe being discarded and the impression that WCW is trying oh so hard to be the WWF but they are simply WWF-Lite. If you wish to see pure chaos on pay per view, check out Russo and Hogan's part. Otherwise, I would give this a miss like the enitre comapny by this point. Thanks for reading and supporting and remember: There's Always Another Night!
