Hello and welcome to another edition of Seanomaniac Wrestling Reviews, the only wrestling review series on the internet that makes poorer business decisions than Dixie Carter! A beautiful Halloween edition, Andre The Giant & Hulk Hogan are teaming up to take Big John Studd & King Kong Bundy, an absolute monster of a match. We also have Tito Santana against The Macho Man Randy Savage, Terry Funk vs The Junkyard Dog and a Piper’s Pit with Hillbilly Jim, Cousin Junior and Uncle Elmer.

Terry Funk W/ Jimmy Hart vs Junkyard Dog

Funk beat the shit out of a poor ring attendant, Funk carries a branding iron to the ring, Funk lost to JYD in Madison Square Garden which led to an assault from Funk who laid out JYD. JYD has Funk, massive right hand from JYD. JYD chases Jimmy Hart, Funk is crotched on the top rope. JYD yanks Funk around who scrambles around the ring, scoop slam from Funk. JYD dodges the elbow, scoop slam from The Dog. Funk is dumped to the floor, Hart tends to his prized asset. Scoop slams and headbutt from JYD, Funk rolls to the floor. Hart grabs Dog’s foot, JYD back drops Funk on the floor. Jabs from Funk, two for Funk. Sleeper from Funk, Dog escapes for his own sleeper. Hart is yanked into the ring, Funk cracks Dog with the megaphone for the win. Dog gets revenge with a massive right on Jimmy Hart.

Tremendous effort from Terry Funk in this match, Funk gets his ass beat by JYD, bumping all around the place for his opponent. Funk could not have done more to make JYD look like a star, Funk gets a much needed win. Liked this match a lot, JYD gets his heat back branding Jimmy Hart.

Winner: Terry Funk over JYD via Megaphone Attack!

Piper & The Hillbillies

Piper insults Elmer and Hillbilly Jim, Elmer calls out Piper and Jesse Ventura for their comments, they argue before Hillbilly Jim clears the ring.

Hulk Hogan & Andre The Giant W/ Captain Lou Albano vs Big John Studd & King Kong Bundy W/ Bobby Heenan

Massive match, built off of the last Saturday Night’s Main Event. Hogan would save Andre from an assault of Bundy & Studd, Lou Albano is in the corner of Hogan and Andre. Knee from Hogan, Bundy stops a slam and pummels Hogan. Elbow by Hogan, Bundy meets the turnbuckle. Corner clothesline, here comes Andre. Choke from Andre, headbutts from Andre. Tag to Hogan, double axe handle. Studd attacks Hogan from the apron, Bundy pummels Hogan. Shoulder block from Studd, Hogan nails Studd with a massive atomic drop. Andre receives the tag, chops to Studd. The referee is smacked by accident, all four men are in the ring. Studd is battered by the babyfaces, Hogan and Andre control the ring.

We have a new referee, they take a break from the action. Inside the ring, Andre has Studd. More choking, boot from Hogan. Axe Bomber from Hogan, Andre is back in the ring. Boot by Andre, Studd powders with Bundy charging Andre. Andre is tied up in the ropes, Hogan eats a splash from Bundy. The referee calls for the bell, we do not see a clean finish as Hogan saves Andre.

The crowd was electric, the feuds are continuing with Hogan getting ready for a big match which should be looming with Bundy, Andre and Hogan what a team if only for one night, the fans love those two.

Winners: Hogan & Andre over Studd & Bundy via DQ!

(WWF Intercontinental Championship Match) Randy Savage W/ Miss Elizabeth vs Tito Santana ©

Oh Yeah! Macho Man Randy Savage was a free agent signing for the WWF with the best managers in the company vying to serve Savage. Savage would choose the very beautiful Miss Elizabeth as his manager as we were introduced to one of the best on-screen duos the WWF would ever see period. Savage pulls Santana to the ropes, they trade control before an illegal right hand by Savage. Knee by Savage, hiptoss from Santana. Savage dodges an elbow, middle rope axe handle for two. Sleeper from Savage, Santana uses the hair to maintain control.

Santana elbows his way out, Savage nails a scoop slam. Santana stops the axe handle, knee lift with Santana unloading on Savage. Rights and lefts, scoop slam by Santana. Savage powders, Savage stomps on Santana, knocking the champion to the floor. Santana eats a knee lift, both men are counted out.

Disappointing end to a match that seemed to be on another level of what would take place inside of that ring, and I mean that in the most positive way possible as Savage was so fast and Santana as well compared to everything else going on inside of that ring.

Double Count-Out!

Mr. Fuji W/ Don Muraco vs Ricky Steamboat

Muraco is looking spiffy at ringside, this is a kung-fu battle. Silly but passable for the time, Steamboat shows off his martial arts to beat down Fuji. Kicks from Fuji, headbutt to the groin. Both men trade elbows and chops, a scary looking bump from Steamboat. Elbows and chops by Fuji, spinning sole butt. Steamboat suplexes Fuji, missile dropkick from Steamboat for the win. Muraco spits mist in Steamboat’s eyes, Steamboat escapes with a few bruises. DUD!

Winner: Ricky Steamboat over Mr. Fuji via Missile Dropkick!

More fun stuff form the fine folks of the WWF, Hogan and Andre were superb together while they were bright sparks coming from Santana and Savage, imagine if those matches had a clean finish, it could have been huge but I understand saving those matches for the bigger shows. The Halloween skits were pretty funny, no surprise when you have the likes of Heenan and Piper littered throughout the show, Piper and stealing candy from trick or treaters was especially a delight, Piper was the man. Thanks for reading and remember: There’s always another night!
